And my heart went 🦋🦋🦋 This makes me miss a friend I made in Cahersiveen sooo much. He owned a pub there and let us stay in a rental room upstairs for free as long as he didn’t have to turn the hot water on for our showers the next morning. 😂 We stayed up too late drinking Carlsberg with him and his friends with no thought about how we’d get our tipsy little asses to a hotel, but he made a point to look out for us and was so kind. Nearly caught our death from the icy showers but saved a couple young American girls in their 20’s (8 years ago) around $100. Hearing you describe the little towns on that part of the island brought back lots of good memories. We traveled without making reservations and stayed where ever we ended up. I could write a book. lol...It’s such a rosemantic place. 🥰😂

Having some serious nostalgia now thinking of my only (_so far_) visit to Ireland, what feels like forever ago! Spent time doing this exact kind of trip in the southwest; winding narrow roads where you stop for sheep crossing the way, B&Bs with resident dogs that become your BFF for the stay, and finding sites like stone circles! Best moment is a toss up between happening upon Gleninchaquin Park and doing a hike and being near the beach one morning and seeing two horses and their riders emerge from the mist after a morning run on the sand. Literally finished a Zoom presentation as this popped up so I put on my headphones to listen as a reward (and positive reinforcement conditioning for tolerating stupid meetings). Now the [work] day can end on good note! (Note...🎶...guitar playing, see what I did there? 😉)
