SHURA - Ryuichi Shura [OC][Concept][Sketch]
🕑 Added 2021-04-08 16:33:17 +0000 UTCBefore I get into this, I have two weeks of break from my regular work coming up, and I am looking forward to getting huge chunks of my comics on this site done. There is so much I need to complete that I haven't had time or motivation between moving and my day job to get them done.
I apologize for the big gaps between updates. Days have been pretty tight and busy leading up to the term break. (Down here in Australia it's still the school period and I have to fight for every bit of free time I can to do my art at my leisure just to burn off some steam).
What has floated around in my head for a while is this concept of Gohan as a fantasy OC. Since Gohan is my favourite character, I've always made many of my original characters in the past for my original comics look like him in his teenage phase all the way back in high school.
His hairstyle is my favourite aspect, as it looks so cool being short and spiky with the bangs hanging over the forehead. I tried getting my hair cut the same way... but failed miserably.
The basic concept behind Ryuichi Shura is that he is a demon hunter during the Sengoku Period of Japan. Just imagine Witcher 3, but set in Feudal Japan. That's the concept behind this character, which I think is pretty awesome.
