Update: BG Towel with Overrides + Chest Fix
🕑 Added 2021-08-27 20:40:54 +0000 UTCI previously released an override for my towel, which meant after bathing sims would automatically wear the towel and the Standard SimpleChest shape. This update fixes that, so your sims will instead display the chest shape you've chosen for them in the Body Selector!
A couple of important notes:
1) I did not create this fix. The fix involves a scripting mod, which was created and kindly shared with me by user fpttsu. I'm still in the early learning stages of learning scripting, so all credit for the fix goes to fpttsu - both for making it, and for allowing me to share it with others so everyone can benefit!
2) This is still in "semi-testing" mode. I've tested the fix in my game in a number of situations and encountered no problems. But! There's a lot going on beneath the hood of The Sims 4 - especially when you involve other large scripting mods like WickedWhims. It's possible that there's a situation that wasn't able to be accounted for, or that future game patches or changes to WW code may cause the fix to break in some unexpected way.
3) Updates if this breaks won't necessarily be immediate. Like I said, I'm trying to learn scripting currently, and if I'm proficient enough to fix any problems myself I will do so. But if an update requires fpttsu's help, it could potentially take longer to be able to be fixed.

The zip contains four files:
- The towel. Required.
- The script mod fixing the override. Required if you want to see correct chest shapes on sims using the override.
- Two versions of the override - one white, and one multi-color. You can ONLY USE ONE of these overrides, so put the version in your game that you want to see!
For example - if you want your sims to have their correct chests and to have random multi-colored towels, you would install the following THREE files: the towel, the script, and the override_multicolor.
NOTES:
I'm sure most people use WW, so you've probably already done this, but if you haven't - you need to enable Script Mods in your TS4 in-game settings in order for script mods to work.
Also, in order for the game to properly read a script mod, it cannot be more than one folder deep in your /Mods directory. As an example, /Mods/Simdulgence would work, but /Mods/Simdulgence/Overrides would not.

Hey simdulgence. For some reason I'm getting inconsistent results when it comes to the towel override. When my sim showers at the gym, he correctly equips the lower waisted one, but when I selected "change into towel after shower" on his home lot, he had the white fluffy towel that rides halfway up his torso. Is it possible there are two different "towel" items that get used in different situations, and your mod is only changing the one of them?

You mean for the base game towel that already exists, right? Just to check we're on the same page 😀
I have no CC clothing more because the game offers so much beautiful clothing but overlays like this I like to use. I like the towels for female sims but would be a multicolor overlay possible? The wellness bathrobes could also be multicolored. A new design is nice but I am also satisfied with a multicolor overlay. 😊😁

Sure, why not? I'd need to make a towel for them first, though. I'd probably want to make a full version that covered the breasts, and separately convert the male version (would need some reshaping, but could otherwise stay the same) for a topless towel. I don't know all the behind-the-scenes details in terms of a full body vs lower body without looking at code/script, but if it's doable then fingers crossed I could get it to work.

Looks awesome! Any plans for a similar female override, so that they can have random multi-colored towels as well? If so, suggestion: female sims with the 'Nudity Enthusiast' attribute and at least 2 in Naturism have increasing odds (based on Nudity skill) of wearing only a waist towel. I can help with scripting, but I'm also new to it. I know the focus is on male sims (who probably deserve it more), though. Just feels like a great gameplay addition.
