I've wanted to expand body accessories for a while now, but the trick has been finding a way to do it without clogging up CAS or the WW Body Selector menu with lists of parts. I knew a scripting mod was probably the solution to this, and with some help (thank you fpttsu!) I've created the first version of a system I'm calling SimplePiercings.
SimplePiercings is a set of piercings that your sim can purchase, store in their inventory, and equip in Live Mode.
The first set available is a pair of half rings for your male AND female sim's nipples. They're currently available in four metallic shades (silver, gold, bronze and steel). Thanks to the new system, you no longer have to use CAS to equip a piercing color; just purchase the color you want from the Buy catalogue and put them on your sim!
SimplePiercings work with (almost) any Simdulgence body top I've released. All you have to do is select the chest or breasts you want for your sim, and then use the new system to add the piercings you want and they will correctly show up on your chosen anatomy!
How to Use SimplePiercings:
1) Search for the piercings in the Buy catalogue, either under "piercings" or my name "Simdulgence".
2) Purchase the piercing you want for your sim. It shows up as a colorful icon in the catalogue, and as a simple black jewelry box in Live Mode.
3) Drag the box over your sim in Live Mode, or direct them to place it in their Inventory.
4) Click the piercing icon in your sim's Inventory OR click on the sim and choose "Wear Piercing". If you want to remove it, click the piercing icon OR on your sim and choose "Remove Piercing".
The ability to wear and remove piercings are controlled by the Inventory item. I recommend keeping the item in your sim's inventory, but if you lose it or destroy it accidentally you can purchase another piercing to remove it.
The plan is to add more styles for nipples and genitals, and possibly more swatches, but I've started with a smaller selection so I can receive and incorporate feedback more easily.
NOTES:
- This is a very early foray into scripting mods for me, which is why I classify this release as "In Testing". There may be situations I haven't tested enough or even thought of, although I've tried my best. Things may have to change drastically, or the entire system might need to be scrapped in favor of Body Selector options if it doesn't work out.
- Currently if you Wear or Remove a piercing while your sim is naked, their body won't update to show this. I'd like to correct this if I can, but for the moment the solution is to dress them and undress them again (or equip a piercing while they're clothed).
- Sometimes after a sim is taken into CAS (via MCCC or a mirror), the piercing doesn't show when you return to Live Mode. I don't know why this is happening yet, but I would like to fix it if possible. In the meantime, I've found changing clothes usually causes the piercing to show up again.
- I have no intention of making clothing that shows piercing "bumps", and I will not be making belly button piercings. Both of these options are more complicated than I would like to make this system, so the piercings will stay limited to areas normally hidden by clothes.
- Currently, I have not added piercings for "Inverted" nipples, but I may in future.
- SimplePiercings is designed to work with my Simple body parts. It will not work with older RealChests and is not compatible with other creators' body parts.
INSTALLATION:
This is a script mod, which means you must place the script itself no further than ONE subfolder deep (for example /Mods/Simdulgence is okay, but /Mods/Simdulgence/Piercings is not).

Thanks for the email and the picture! 1) You aren't seeing the full breasts/chests in your game because you don't have the files I mentioned in my other comment in your game. You need simdulgence_SimpleBreasts_Base and simdulgence_SimpleChests_Base, but you currently only have the breasts for male sims. 2) The male breasts don't show piercings yet, because I need to do an update for the piercing mod to make the male breasts work. I'll do that update and get it posted asap.

My first recommendation is to remove your other mods, leaving in just WickedWhims and my breasts/chests files, and delete the "localthumbcache.package" from your main Sims 4 folder. Then check in game whether you can see those parts in the selector. If you can, that means you have another conflicting mod and you'll probably want to add mods back in little groups to eliminate which mod is causing a problem. If you have only WW and the chests in your game and still can't see them, there's another problem. At that point a screenshot of your /Mods folder would be a help (uploaded to an image host like imgbox.com and linked here, or emailed to simdulgence@mail.com).

They shouldn't conflict with any skin cc or overlays that I'm aware of. Do you have a Simple chest/breasts selected for your sim in the WW Body Selector, and are you changing clothes after you've put the piercings on in order to refresh their body?

Yeah, I'll have to see how it goes. Hopefully the scripted way will continue to be straightforward, because I really like how it functions now. Especially them not having to fit under clothing because they only display when undressed. Fingers crossed it stays simple!

Hey! The traits and buffs control the sim's piercing status and the color of the piercing. They're not actually supposed to be seen by the user at any point - like Maxis does with things like walkstyle, left-handed versus right-handed, etc. You *can* see them in game if you use testing cheats and look at your sim's traits and moodlets, but for most people they won't see those bits. Hope that makes sense!

I like to translate your content and I noticed something. I see traits and buffs in the file but not in the game. Does that come later or do I understand something wrong?

I hope that's not needed! Nipple rings from other creators often have issues with the rings floating over clothing or being undressed when the sim goes to have a bath/shower. Better IMO to just have a long list of body parts to select from in that case than have it flagged as an accessory.

These look good! If the scripting gets to be too much you can make them CC in the Ring Finger category and call it a day. It's nice to be able to put them on in Live mode but I can see where the scripting might be difficult to get nailed down.

By color, yes, because each color piercing is technically a separate object. So you can have two gold piercing boxes in your inventory, and it will show that you have 2, but if you buy a bronze it will display in the inventory as a separate item. I hope that answers your question, but if not, let me know!
