Automatic Towel Style: Override
🕑 Added 2021-08-16 13:43:12 +0000 UTCThis is an override of the base game towel "uniform", replacing it with my own towel. This is useful if you want your sims to wear my towel automatically in your game.
A few things to know:
1) The override DOES NOT affect the full body towel you find in CAS. You can keep using that as normal.
2) Anytime a male sim would automatically wear a towel, they should now wear my towel with my standard male nipple chest.
3) This file will work even if you don't have the standalone towel I released or my male chests.
4) There are two "flavors": original and multicolor. The original will put your sims in white towels; the multicolor will randomly select which color towel sims wear (and it will change each time they put on a new towel). Install the override you want!
I tested this with sims bathing, getting a massage on the massage table, and changing at lockers (including the ones from Base Game, Spa Day and Snowy Escape). There may be other scenarios I didn't test, but the file should still work whenever a sim automatically wears a towel.
NOTES:
If you want your sims to go back to using the default towels, just remove this override.
EDIT:
Just added a multicolor option. If you want your sims to wear random color towels, instead of all white, opt for the multicolor file. Sims will select a towel color at random, and this will change whenever they put a towel on (no setting a sim's towel color preference, sorry). At least your saunas and locker rooms won't just be full of sims in white towels, though!

Oh really? That's good to know. I believe WW stores your Body Selector choices by setting "statistics" for each sim, but I haven't played around much with those. Off the top of my head, I'd guess that I would need to write all new interactions for changing into towels that call the towel bottom AND the statistic that stores the chest shape, because the current interactions will just reference the "towel uniform" and probably have no easy way to include the chest. I could be wrong, though. I'll take a look too, but if you find anything interesting, let me know!

Thanks, I understand what the issue is now! I have made WW script mods before, I will look into the code and see if something like this can be done easily. :)

Piggy-backing on my own comment because I said "it's how the game is designed" and didn't explain what I meant. The game tags the full body towel as a "towel uniform", and certain situations in game will put your sim in a towel uniform. It's looking for a top and bottom piece, so I need to tell the game what the top piece is or it will get confused. That's why I settled for the standard chest shape. Ideally it would be able to show the chest you chose for your sim, but like I said above, I'll probably need to research scripting mods to see if I can make that happen.

No, you understood it right. It's not how I *want* it to work, it's just how the game is designed unfortunately. My attempts to make a sim show their selected chest all failed; the sim would cycle between chests each time they changed into a towel (now you're beefy, now you're toned, etc). It might be possible with a scripting mod that interacted with WW, but I don't have much experience with scripting mods. Scripting mods in general are something I'd like to pursue, it's just something that will take me time to learn (and there's no guarantee I will succeed, either lol). So I'd like to make it work where sims get the towel and their selected chest shape - I just can't promise that I can at the moment.

You say when a Sim would wear a towel, they would now wear this one + the standard male nipple chest? Would that then override the male top selected for that Sim on WW? It would be weird if my toned or beefy Sim is suddenly walking around with the standard chest... Or am I misunderstanding how this will work?

Do you mean as an override? For some reason when I tried that, it didn't actually override the base game one. I *could* make a separate override that actually alters the mesh/texture of the original and swapping it for mine, if that's what you're interested in. Or if you're looking for just a standalone full body towel, I could do that too. Let me know!
