SimpleBreasts: "No Texture" Add-On & Overlay
🕑 Added 2021-05-04 19:21:06 +0000 UTCI hadn't planned on releasing this next, but a few different projects I'm working on have run into technical hiccups all at the same time. I'm sorry this might not be the most exciting update, but I hope it's of use anyway!
Right now, SimpleBreasts come with a texture attached. This means they're not compatible with the game's suntanning system, since the game views them as clothing and won't tan the nipples. It also makes it a little trickier to use them with CC skins. This update attempts to fix both of those things.
The main file included is a "No Texture" add-on which removes textures from the SimpleBreasts. I've also included a SimpleBreast overlay, which is a skin detail that adds the SB texture of your choice back on to the sim. The SB Overlay includes the current nipple styles (Standard, Protruding, Puffy, Inverted) and will probably expand in the future to include other nipple/areola styles and sizes.
I set this up to override the current textures so users don't have to go in and replace breasts for all of their sims. If you install the add-on, all SimpleBreasts in your game will suddenly lose their textures and need an overlay. Please be aware of this before you add it!
I want to make clear that although this is the set-up I'm going with now, I'm willing to alter it if for some reason this turns out to be a bad idea for some unforeseen reason. Honestly, working with the game's suntan system is a real pain, and I'm sorry if there's some element I've overlooked that means this set-up doesn't work!
NOTES:
1) This add-on requires the SimpleBreasts_Base file to work. You can download it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/50429180
2) Although this makes the breasts more compatible with CC, I can't promise they'll look good with all CC. It depends on texture placements.
3) If you don't want this anymore, simply delete the add-on from your files. All of the breasts will get their textures back.
There are three files included: the No Texture add-on, the Overlay, and an updated version of the Color Overlays. The color overlays weren't flagged to show up for teen sims, but that's been corrected.
The Overlay is available as a Skin Detail, using the Left Dimple slot.

Ah, I get what you're talking about now. The dark shadow in the groin for female penises is probably going to be solved with an overlay, I *think*. I haven't tried painting it out on the female skins yet, but the priority is still for the skin to look correct with the vaginas. If one default skin edit can look good for both, then I'll do it that way. The second one probably isn't solvable at all, tbh. If I changed it, it wouldn't align right with most sex animations anymore.

Just the issues you mentioned in your Simple Gens for Women post, but I'm not sure if the second is solvable with a skin texture. 1) The default Maxis female texture has shadow painted on the groin which looks like a dark triangle. I opted not to paint over the groin much because it would have caused bigger issues with suntanning - and defeat the point of the minimal SG textures. I also chose not to alter the default female skin with an override, because that might have negatively impacted sims with a vagina. 2) As with the RealGens version of this, the penis is lower than I would like it to be. It has to be the same height as the male body in order to work with animations, although this can create the appearance of a "long crotch".

Yup, I plan to update the default skin for females. They'll get the Standard nipple by default, and then there's no need for the overlay unless you want to use a different texture like Puffy or something. Maybe I'm being dense, but what do you mean about ladies with SG penises looking better?

Great idea! This also solves the problem of having nipples underneath transparent clothes not match. Do you have any plans to release a new default skin for females to go along with this? You could move the Standard nipples into the default texture and make ladies with SimpleGen penises look better, but maybe this is best left to CC skins?
