SimpleGens Skin Overlay
🕑 Added 2021-04-02 14:23:21 +0000 UTCThis skin overlay is ideal for anyone who wants the SimpleGens groin/butt, but doesn't want to use my default skin replacement.
The overlay brings over some of my default texture from the groin/buttocks area, so your sim's body can have a better blend while still using CC skins, other default replacements, or even the base Maxis skin textures. The overlay helps improve appearance while a sim is naked, or while wearing clothing that shows off their body, like a jockstrap.
Currently there is one overlay swatch, designed to work with what I hope is a wide array of skins. I may add more overlays with different coverage for blending with specific skins in future.
The overlay should work with all CC skins that adhere to the official Maxis skin texture format, but results may vary.
Located in the Skin Detail area of CAS, using the Right Lip Mole slot.
NOTE: If you use my default skin replacements, and never use CC skin textures, you probably don't need this overlay.

When I tried adding each layer to test them, both were for a paler skin tone and I couldn't find a swatches option or sliders? Am I applying them wrong?

I'm glad at least one of those slots works for you! Re: only working on lighter skin tones - not sure what you mean exactly. They work on all of the Maxis skin tones in my game, light or dark. Are you experiencing an issue with them?

I've tested the tattoo options, the Lower Back conflicts with Luumia's Body Hairs, both series. So I can still use the Lower Front. The only issue is these will only work on lighter skin tones.

That's strange. Have you downloaded and installed the file from this post? https://www.patreon.com/posts/simplegens-frank-49268226 That's the one I'm using in my game at the moment. If that file still doesn't cause Jean/Frank to show up, let me know. Both of those designs are unique in terms of their internal ID numbers, so they shouldn't have any conflict with anything else that I'm aware of.

That's strange - it's showing up for me, both in CAS and in live mode using the WW body selector. Do you see the other three unique SimpleGens designs (Frank, Roland and Wesley)? For me they show up at the top of the body part selector list.

I've created two other versions, one that uses the Lower Front slot (which is technically unused by the game) and one that uses the Lower Back slot. Hopefully one of these will work for you, but if you find they're conflicting with other tattoos you want to use let me know and I'll make another version with another slot. Thank you for this! Just as a quick unrelated question though. All your groin mods seem to be showing up in WW for use except the Jean mod, is there something different about that one?

oh good point, I think Luumia's body hairs use the the upper body I think, I'm not sure... maybe choose a lesser used area of the body? I really don't know what areas are available, I trust your judgement :)

Sure. Do you mind what tattoo slot it uses (eg upper back, arm, etc)?

I use a lot of skin overlays, especially the ones made by ThisIsThem, often other overlay layers will remove them; so could you please make a Tattoo layer additionally please?
