That makes a lot of sense and I noticed during editing his tattoos disappearing so I assumed that was just a cursed tool and the tanking punches was hit actual technique!

Also just to clarify, Shigemo’s (blonde ponytail dude) innate technique actually has nothing to do with the sword or controlling it. His technique’ll be explained so not spoiling that, but his sword is a cursed tool that still contains some level of the cursed spirit’s sentience imbued within it. So he simply uses cursed energy to communicate with that cursed spirit/tool (kinda like sonar) and tell it where to go or receive information about who it’s cut, etc.

Just a reminder that Megumi couldn’t even remember what his dad looked like back when Gojo first met him as a kid, so 0% chance he immediately recognizes Toji off appearance alone lol. Plus with how terrible Toji is at remembering dudes, including Megumi, it’s a safe bet to assume that if they run into each other, they’ll both probably take a few minutes to piece together who the other is lol

When Nanami saw Ijichi and it suddenly cut to another face, it was a cut to Haibara. And yeah, Shigemo (ponytail dude) was targeting the assistants since he was told to in an earlier episode. Great reaction as always!
