A Reminder
🕑 Added 2019-10-14 17:46:55 +0000 UTCA quote I heard that actually made me cry was: “In order to save each and every one of your beautiful organs, your body had no other way but to sacrifice a little piece of your skin / weight. Your body is sorry that this is the source of your suffering, but your life is precious.”
I’ve always found it sad, yet fascinating how despite how much someone goes through and achieves in life, the smallest, most meaningless things still can get to the best of us when we are most vulnerable. You can achieve so much, yet the moment you break out a little bit or you gain a bit of weight, you’re suddenly so critical about yourself as if everything else you did never mattered (this is just from an extreme POV).
But I feel like during those times, it’s always nice to get reminders from those who support and love you, and never identify you as those minor ’“flaws” you pick on yourself about. People don’t choose to support you or not based on the way your body decides to fluctuate.
It was really just this summer that my body was going through some annoyances, but rather than continuously hating myself for it, I took it as a reminder to take care of the body that allowed you to do ALL THAT SHIT and ACHIEVE ALL THAT SHIT — because if there is no you, there would be none of your life experiences.
