More animations and update progress
🕑 Added 2022-08-20 07:30:41 +0000 UTCA few more of the animations I've completed lately - they're still a little rough, but I'll be doing another pass over everything when I do the final player sprite rework sometime later in the future to give Mia a slightly more unique look!
On the likely delivery of the next update - this announcement was made in the discord already but I realized I forgot to post it here as well:
I've put together a production schedule to help me keep track of what needs doing as well as a way of estimating how long things are going to take, and so at present if I can keep on the current schedule the first beta build of the update should be ready by around Halloween - October 31st!
A few things to note about this: I made this schedule using estimations based on how long it took me to do all the same animations for the 2 prey belly size, and as such may not be the most accurate (the bigger the belly, the more frames it often requires and the longer it takes to animate). I will still say though I'm feeling decently confident in being able to maintain this schedule for now - assuming of course I don't hit any massive unforeseen snags - and a few parts of the schedule I may have overbudgeted time for, meaning there's a chance I could be finishing earlier than anticipated. I'm 3 weeks in so far and currently still on track :D
The potentially overbudgeted part in question is the rewrite of the entire player code - it is essential that happens for the sake of integrating the new animations of course, but in the same stroke it will also make modding the player possible in the future, make the player super easy to code and debug, make future development (especially regarding the skill trees) MUCH easier and more streamlined, and generally highly optimizes how the game runs. How long it will take though will depend on how much code I only need to restructure vs how much I need to fully rewrite. I have 3 weeks budgeted for the full thing, but if I ONLY needed to restructure it, I could probably have it done in 2 days with a third to do some clean up and bug testing - however, I know that there's at least a couple parts I do need to fully rewrite (such as the animation system and prey system), so we'll see how many others end up needing a full rewrite too.

Mia will be immobile with 4 prey, but there will still be unique burps sounds for it!

So you said there would be a 4 prey belly? If I may I think adding different burps for those would be amazing, since you did that already for no prey, 1 prey, and 2 prey belly, love the game so far though, just wish there was an option to just burp constantly hehe
