I know Autism Spectrum Disorder is going to be a little different for everyone, because it is a spectrum, but I have a friend who recently got a diagnosis and they agreed to read over the script for me. So a big thank you for their help, and I wish it hadn’t taken this long, but I wanted to make the best version I could. Whatever makes you unique, you are enough, and you don’t have to be any ‘more’ or ‘less’. You are already just right :)

I loved this video a lot as someone with ASD myself! These kinds of audios are really hard to find. I was wondering if you’d consider making a part 2 where you comfort the listener during sensory overload?

Thank you so much for this comment! I've learned a lot about ASD from my friends but I am always learning more. There is so much incorrect information out there about it, so I love hearing from people who have experience. I think it's important to learn as much as we can about each other so that we're all designing our world with everyone- including neurodiverse people- in mind :)

This is exactly how I wish people responded to me telling them about my ASD diagnosis. Usually people would just default to responses like "oh but you don't seem very autistic to me" or "oh but everyone is a little bit autistic!" without even asking how I felt about my diagnosis. I guess because it's a diagnosis people immediately think comfort is needed, not realizing that the diagnosis could actually be the best thing that could've happened in their eyes. Not to say I didn't appreciate the thought behind it, I did! But it feels a bit weird when you're actually just happy that all those things you disliked about yourself had a reason other than "guess I'm not trying hard enough". :) Anyways, excellent audio! Comforting and educational!
