Steve Notes NXT 2.0 9/22/2021
🕑 Added 2021-09-22 18:53:21 +0000 UTCShow opens up with 2.0 meatheads milling about in the ring like some MyCareer Invitational is about to happen.
The completely out of place Tomosso Ciampa comes out, his lower third is in the style of NXT 1.0 appropriately.
908 days he reclaimed his spot and took the title he never lost. It was a long journey but it was worth every second for this moment and to say to everyone that once again Ciampa is your NXT champion. What a time this is, 2.0, fresh faces, the energy is contagious, these young men and women have been busting their asses and they’re ready to show the world just how damn good they are. I’m talking about guys like Carmello Hayes, Odyssey JOnes, Bron Breaker, um, and other guys, and then there’s ME, I am and will always be MR. NXT. Now we can give ourselves a fresh coat of paint, but what hasn’t changed is the passion, when I look around here, all these people are NXT, and then there’s the fans, that’s the heartbeat, the soul of this place, you’re the reason I get to stand here and do what I do. He then tries to convince either us or himself that NXT 2.0 is the A Show. He does the we are NXT thing.
Cameron Grimes comes out, says all this energy has got me all fired up. That championship is the rocket fuel I need to go to the moon. Joe Gacy starts talking, LA Knight interrupts, says all these incels should be chanting at me, YOU DESERVE IT, Odyssey Jones interrupts, says you lost twice in the same day, Pete Dunne and Ridge come out, this is a clusterfuck, Dunne says here we are, 2.0, all these new faces, lemme give you a piece of advice, make a name for yourself, I look around, and all I see a bunch of geezers, afraid to throw the first punch. Big brawl breaks out. Bron and Ciampa are the last men standing in the ring.
Backstage women are brawling.
Bron gets on the mic, says how about you grow a set and challenge me and CIampa to a tag team match tonight, Bron even sounds like Scott.
KUSHIDA vs. Roderick Strong
Strong wins via EOH thanks to a bunch of Diamond Mine distractions and a superman punch from Ivy Nile
***
After the match, Grayson Waller comes out and challenges Strong, Bivens says next week we show you why DM runs NXT
HAHAHH TONY D!!!!
HE EVEN HAS AN UNCLE PAULIE!!!!! HAHA he says family and business are the most important things, AND NOW HIS SUCCESS IN NXT!!
Origin story of Briggs and Benson, he’s in some bar after the breakout tournament, met some random dude cuz he was crowding him in a moderately attended bar, they fought, and… now they’re a tag team. Honestly Briggs acts like he’s never been in a bar in his life
Amari Miller with a promo class 101 video
Kay Lee Ray vs. Amari Miller
Dude this match was like two minutes long are they seriously just trotting out the greenest wrestlers possible on cable tv
KLR wins by catching a stray kick and hits KLRBOMB

BRON BRAKKER interview, says Ciampa’s words mean a lot around here, Ciampa comes up, Bron stares at Ciampa’s gold, he wants Goldie to be his FREAK.
Xyon Quinn and two ladies are in the parking lot mumbling their way through a conversation, he opens the door for them, some jabrone tries to walk in front of the women, Quinn holds him back, lets the women in, mumbles some shit, wrecks dude, mumbles something else
Dante Chen vs. Trey Baxter
Chen hits a “devastating maneuver” basically he stole Garza’s wingclipper
Andre Chase University
He talks shit about Odyssey losing the breakout tourney, calls him the face of a loser, one of his students STEVE says hey didn’t he beat you? WHO THE FUCK DID YOU EVER BEAT STEVE? Ok that was funny.
Gacy is dressed like a sears appliance salesman, but he’s talking about safe spaces, conflict mediation, not using his male priveledge to get what he wants. The crowd WHATS him, he says he believes he can achieve tolerance for all or something. It’s like, Vince’s idea of… like a liberal university heel gimmick?
Gacy vs. Grimes
Grimes wins with cave-in
**
After the match, Gacy hugs Grimes, Grimes pushes him away
HAHAH VON WAGNER Video package
Elektra Lopez vs. Anna Scheer (Tesha Price in AEW?)
Lopez dominates in like three minutes

Santos puts her over, says she has fuego and commands respect, all of this under one word, familia.
She says what I did here tonight was just a taste of what the first lady of Legado is gonna unleash on B Fab and NXT 2.0. All you got is talk and if you don’t like it, get your skinny ass out here
Hit Row come out, BFab sneak attacks from behind, they fight.
Trey is sulking after losing to a dude who’s been signed for like 6 months, Cora Jade, his legit gf, peps him up by saying, hey we’ve been together a long time, that guy looked like a superhero. Trey says superhero.
Franky Monet group backstage, Raquel says their match is next week. Monet says enjoy your last week as champion. LASH LEGEND comes up, says she has a new talk show next week.
Odyssey Jones vs. Two Jabronis
Andre Chase comes out to taunt Odyssey, doesn’t matter, he hits a funsplash on both men at the same time, then he hits a stacked splash on the jabronis for the win. After the match, Chase attacks Jones with a chair, Odyssey breaks the chair, sends Chase running.
Waller is backstage with two jabronis, Hayes and Trick rolls up, he has his contract, and he says this means even if you win next week, I can win it from you in the same night.
Ikeman Jiro Style Strong promo is pretty funny
Good lord, John Laurenitis’ fav group TOXIC ATTRACTION this is so embarrassing
Mandy says when I came here, I came to be your gift, your golden goddess, a woman you people would love to be with, she cuts a WHERE WERE YOU when my fave was battered promo, the crowd could give an absolute shit. She says this is what the future of the women’s division looks like. THe other two talk, but say nothing.
Meanwhile in some other universe, Io and Zoey are watching. Io says he wants to fight them, Zoey says we should talk about it, they do, and then… I think that’s persia comes up and awkwardly says some shit
Pete Dunne/Ridge Holland vs. BRAKKER and Ciampa
Good lord. This is the take of two matches. Wrestling match 101 when Braker and Ridge and then like, a real NXT match when Ciampa and Dunne are in. WHy would DUnne re-sign for this shit? He could be on Strong or something.
Dunne introduces the slapjack or whatever, KOR takes it from him, allowing Ciampa to hit a draping DDT and BREAKKER hits his finish on Holland for the win. Breaker puts his sausage fingers all over Ciampa’s title.
