Steve Notes NXT 7/20/21
🕑 Added 2021-07-21 19:41:19 +0000 UTCJoe starts out: TIK TOK GUESS WHO’S COME TO SMASH UR CLOCK?
Regal comes running down, this is not what I wanted, certainly not what I had in mind, when you came back to NXT you knew what I had in mind, you cannot be calling out superstars--
Joe says, IF i was provoked, and I was provoked.
Regal: Kross put his hands on NXT REF Joe, not NXT management
Joe: SEMANTICS! Kross needs to be put down, he’s out of control, did you know about his field trip to Raw? He is out of control and I am here to put him under control.
Regal: Kross is on the way here and we will solve this peacefully. Don’t say another word unless its the right one.
Joe: Because of my respect for you, I can guarantee that tonight will be the end of this, but I can’t guarantee it will end peacefully, and someone tonight is going to sleep.
XIA Li video: I have been waiting for this moment, the most important match of my life I will be the new NXT Women’s champion. Raquel, I plan on doing to you what I did to Martinez. I will make history and leave tonight as the first chinese NXT Women’s champ.
Diamond Mine vs. KUSHIDA/Bob Fish
Fish and KUSHIDA sneak attack
Great stuff, KUSHIDA taps out Tyler Rust with HBL
Grimes and LA Knight pull up, Knight has Grimes take his clearly empty bags out of the trunk. Drake Maverick comes up and helps out. LA Knight takes issue with that, asks is it BRING YOUR IDIOT TO WORK DAY WHO BROUGHT YOU YAH!
Frankey Monet vs Jacy Jayne
Monet handles Jayne pretty quick
During a rest hold bit, Mandy Rose comes out and lays on the commentary desk
Jayne hits a neckbreaker, but Monet finishes her with a glam slam
**
Mandy quantum leaps out
Gargano/Theory interview
How are you dealing with the loss? Gargano is feeling ok, KO rolls in, says I heard Theory talk shit about me, and I’m in a fighting mood, so lets do this. Theory says you’re on. Gargano slaps him on the ass. Theory, not Kyle.
Reed interview: He wants to fight harder now, I wanna fight the best, I shut down Cole last week, I’ll do the same next week.
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Austin Theory
The idea here is Kyle found his edge or something.
He goes off on him on the outside, bashing him into the steel steps, and kicking him into the barricade. Back in, he lays in the strikes.
KO hits a knee drop from the top onto Austin’s knee, then applies a knee bar for the tapout, and then won’t let go afterwards

Raquel/Dakota interview
Kai says Xia came in and stole my spotlight last week and now R is gonna destroy her.
Raquel says Xia and her friends don’t scare me, after I put Xia down, there will be nobody left and Kai totally side-eyes that shit.
MARIACHI MADNESS MUSICAL
Before things start, Santos dismisses the mariachis, says I don’t need you tonight. I was gonna give you a taste of the best musical heritage, MARIACHI! But I changed my mind. I’m not gonna lower myself to entertain you. Some jackass in the crowd keeps chanting HIT ROW and as much as I like HR, its kind of annoying. He says you’re not worth it. He says I’m not gonna do the hit row thing, vomit a few lines, embarrass myself and my hermanos. What is this, the battle of styles? My style is being the true CAMPION! So Hit Row, I’m gonna take that NA title and I’m gonna put it up there with blood, tradition hertigage, familia-
Hit Row interrupt. BFab calls Mariachi music trash. They talk trash. Swerve says last year it took all you to keep me from getting your title. I formed my own group. Santos says I’m gonna take your title back to Mexico. Hit Row get on the apron. Santos sends his guys at HR, him and Swerve go at it. He picks up the guitar, but BFab takes it from him, Swerve gets the guitar, swings and misses Santos, but they catch Wilde trying to sneak, superkick from Adonis, then Swerve breaks the guitar over Wilde’s back.
The Way are backstage talking, Candice says everything is bad lately. Indi says Candice, stop being hard on everyone, if Austin wants to kiss Dexter, let him. Candice is like I’m calling a therapist. They bicker, Austin says this family is falling apart, Austin walks out.
Joe waits. Regal comes up, says Kross will be here, so please calm down. Joe says I respect you, but you know I’m gonna be the first to greet Kross when he gets here tonight.
Andre Chase vs. Odyssey Jones
Andre Chase looks like a mycareer side character
Odyssey is HUGE.
Chase tries to chop him down, JESUS almost falls on his head coming out for a cross body over the top, Chase runs him into the post, tries for a pin in the ring, gets 2
Chase hits a moonsault for 2
Oh wow, Jones hits like a popup uranagi type thing? For 3

MSK Interview- what does the future hold? We’re looking for our next competitors. You never told us what MSK stands for. Picture it, Dayton, OH, 2015-- then Imperium interrupts with a video. They run down the tag division. We are here to protect the purity of our sport by any means necessary. The video cuts out, and MSK are finishing their story.
Dunne & Lorcan video promo
For months, I’ve been begging anyone that’s better than me to prove it, and finally Ciampa and Thatch step up. Next week, lets have a scrap. Lorcan: I’m down, next week we’ll see how tough you really are.
LA Knight vs. Drake Maverick
Knight makes Grimes hold the title high
Knight really gets in his face telling him to hold it high, Maverick dropkicks him from behind into the title, then rolls him up for the win. Maverick celebrates as Grimes tells him to run, its too late, Knight attacks. Grimes pulls him off, says the match is over, Knight insists HE punch Maverick cuz he’s his butler. Grimes reluctantly does.
Xia Li vs. Raquel Gonzalez
Raquel pretty much dominates this. On the outside, Li gets Raquel to try the boot but she gets her leg caught in between the post and apron, so Li takes advantage, then sends her into the post.
Li goes on a tear, but Raquel comes down HARD on Li with a twisting Vader bomb, but Li is FUCKED UP, the match has to chill for a second, Li gets up, eats the finish and the pin

Joe comes steaming out, calls out Kross, who shows up on the tron, says that title means he can go wherever he wants and do whatever he wants. He says he’s the way of the future. He’s evidently murdered Regal. Says Joe, do you still feel like you’re in control? Who provoked you? Joe comes running outside to the NXT parking lot as Kross drives off.
