Hey everyone! As a continious tradition for the patreon releases, here are some updates as to what we've been up to!
Sooooooooooooo, We just celebrated our one year anniversary of Home Zomewhere Else! thank you all so much for participating in all the activities we prepared! There's still one more surprise that hasn't arrived yet, due to the Anniversary being so SO busy, and while trying to work on the update at the same time, do believe me that it's been a loooooooooot of w o r k
This week has been the hardest, since there was still a lot that needed to be done and so little time, and still a lot of unfinished stuff aaaaaaaa, because of this, and the new "pace" that we've have to stick with , is having 28 pages per update, this one had 36 and it was going to be more, I thought about delaying this update to be able to finish the rest, but it got too much to handle, so i had to cut it where i thought it could look good, and where it should've been cut since the start, at 28 to 29 pages. Sadly, we have to stick to this pacing because there's only so much we can work on this without burning ourselves out. As you know, Home Zomewhere Else is an Animation heavy vn, having change of attributes (faces, clothes, arms, heads etc) and transformations (movements, walks, nods, shakes, etc) in if not all, almost every line and every dialogue, It would be easier to just have them standing there and change the face every now and then , but we've already choosen this path and I'd like to continue giving you a quality vn that we've worked so hard to achieve, and there is still so much to be doooooooneeeeeeeee.
Since we added a new character sprite, we had a lot of trouble with it, because it wasn't working properly on certain versions of renpy, this one being updated to renpy 8 recently, we always worked with 7.4.11 , and we upgraded to renpy 7.5 and it got bugged, then updated to renpy 8 and got bugged too, so we lost a lot of time while trying to test all of that too, for the time being, we're gonna animate with renpy 7.4.11, and program with renpy 8, because the rollback function on renpy 8 apparently doesn't works properly, at least for us y_y, so I don't know if the saves will have a problem once more due to this, so I apologize for the inconvenience in advance, but to evade this, we're gonna work on having an option on preferences, that unlocks all the chapters in the chapter selector, so you dont have to go to the start and skip aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way through the end, maybe it will be ready for the public version of this update, who knows!
As always, WE'RE ALWAYS ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS! so if you'd like to help our project grow and be a part of the team, don't hesitate to send a message to me, Zordy , on telegram, discord, twitter, patreon or comment on itch.io! Recently, we've have two awesome people join our ranks, I'll introduce them to you all pretty soon......... eyemoji
So, at least, since i had to cut down the update, I finally have some work ready ahead of time ;u; Let's hope this proves quite useful and i can go back and finish all the placeholder backgrounds that I still need to finish y_y and sprites too T_T
But anyways! Do remember that this vn is just starting and we have a long road ahead, and we couldn't have gotten so far without everyone's support! people reading, commenting here or on Nero Valzer's videos is really comforting! so thank you so much, and of course to our beautiful Supporters on Patreon! thank you thank you thank you so muchhhh <3 <3 <3 (as you guys might know, this is my only source of income, so thank you for helping me live basically djfgjdjh) Do check the higher tiers of our patreon if you'd like to give an extra help to achieve our patreon goals! :D
That would be pretty much it! Thank you for playing our visual novel, and I do appreciate if you recommend it to others! Also please remember to rate us with 5* on itch.io! <3
hugs and kisses, Zordy from the hzeteam!

Hey! so - A reason why saves don't work properly once there's a new update?: First of all, remember above all things that this project is still a work in progress , and we often find ourselves going back and forth what we've done so far, fixing typos, animations, scenes, sprites, backgrounds, dialogues, etc... so , if you saved around any of those dialogues that have a major change in any of the above, your save might be compromised , ultimately throwing an error, we apologize for the inconveniences in advance and ask for your understanding! However, with our new implemented Chapter Selector, you can easily go back and forth throughout the vn, once you've read through those parts and unlocked them(if you haven't, a (????) name will show instead, until you've finished reading through that chapter's respective part.)

I do have 2 question. Why every new build i have too start a new save? why can't i just start where i left off?
