Within the world of Umora, there are many great spirits, with some holding very close relationships with mortals. The great bullfrog is a spirit from around Twelve Brooks (where we be going), who's magic seems to be connected to some of the local people, giving them the ability to do frog stuff (swim, croak, bubble magic, etc?). It was revealed in episode 40 that the Citadel has been taking the local people and their children who show that frog magic.

In a long series of bleak moments, it was also an escape into delight and the promise of something that felt like hope. In my work, I get to call families and tell them that after years or decades of waiting, their loved ones are finally escaping to safety. That there is a flight booked with a seat for them. Your stories were in my ears during the late-night holiday airport pick ups, calming my frazzled and overworked nervous system as we worked long hours to get people to safety before the doors closed. And then, after the 20th, after I broke the news to parents, children, siblings, grandparents, and dear friends of people who had their flights canceled overnight, your stories of resistance and kindness in the face of cruelty were waiting for me. I hope everyone on your team knows how precious their art is: from the four of you who act; to those of you on music, editing, and sound effects; to those of you who run numbers and logistics and social media and probably many other jobs that are necessary in creating something so beautiful. This is TLDR, probably but: I got to visit Sweden last summer, to go to a bunch of locations from a computer game series I've been playing for like 20 years (MDNA's Carol Reed series), and walking around Sweden was wonderful. So, I was walking in my PNW neighborhood listening to "Peace and Quiet", and the vibe in the forest scene, and the music in that scene, fully sent me back to wandering around in Sweden. Amazing. Love the show, love the music, you guys are awesome.

It wouldn't be acceptable if it was labeled as a trigger warning, which is the term that content warning replaced. Living for the Wizards reference!! I was 10 or 11 years old (I turned 11 that summer) when Wizards was released. My younger brother and I were visiting grandma (in a somewhat small town with a nearby multi-screen movie theater) and we convinced her to drop us off at the movie theater. It was a time when adults didn't necessarily go to the movies with their older children AND a time when an almost 11 year old was certainly expected to watch out for her younger brother (he was 9). We bought tickets to some kids movie, I don't remember which. Then, we snuck into Wizards. I have seen it a few times since and it is quite clear that seeing that movie at that age really shaped me. **A friend and I used a similar tactic a few months before (back home... not at grandma's) to see The Man Who Fell To Earth with David Bowie.

It's funny because I know what spell I wish I could have at parties but know deep down that I would actually use teleport because I have a habit of there just being a switch that gets flicked and I just go straight to bed. It is especially bad when we are entertaining and I hit that because I just go straight to bed leaving my partner to deal with everyone. Worst part is I didn't realise I did it until it was brought to my attention a few years ago.

This episode and fireside was yet another example of what I love best about The Wizard, The Witch, and the Wild One: the four of you are truly building a complex, living, breathing world together and then on top of that, through interludes and secret scenes in episodes, we the audience are invited to immerse ourselves fully in that world by knowing things that the main characters (or even the actors playing them!) don't know. This truly feels like a masterclass in storytelling and every main and fireside episode has been a joy to listen to and even more fun to analyze. ❤️ Also, the best party spell is Heroes' Feast: curing all poison has to mean an instant sobering up and then you can fall asleep happy and full when the party is over. 🥰

Okay, so my partner picked up a copy of Wizards 1977 about six months ago and I have watched it like four times since he got it. I'm obsessed with this absolute mindfuck of a movie. Details that Brennan forgot because why the fuck would he remember this movie is a fever dream: 1. They DO actually talk about how Blackwolf (bad wizard) and Avatar (gnome wizard) are brothers in the exposition at the very beginning. Nothing about this exposition matters at all until the last 5 minutes of the movie. 2. This is Mark Hamill's first film. He did a voice for it during the filming of the first Star Wars movie. 3. Originally, the film was supposed to be called War Wizards, but George Lucas asked them the change the name for obvious reasons. 4. The wiggly 70s funk music they use in the war scenes and throughout is amazing and completely does not fit the vibe. There's so much more to be said about this fucking film, and I completely disagree with Brennan, ya gotta watch it once. The art throughout is really well done and it is just such a fun watch. Invite some friends over, get some pizza, and just enjoy the art that is Wizards 1977.

yeah pocket casts seems to be having trouble replacing the original upload with the updated version. in my experience it usually takes them a few hours and it should sync up eventually tho

For anyone still having an issue, what worked for me was removing the download and marking the ep as played. Then repulling the ep and restarting. (Anything else seemed to just resume the silent version even though it had been marked removed)

It's a little thing, but my favorite sound design moment after the prince's introduction is the music when Eursulon is in Bracken, enjoying the play of arcane confetti in the sunlight just before being accosted by Zero. I can *see* Eursulon in slow motion, finally feeling joy seep back in, contentment starting to spread across his features, sun dappling his face and glinting off tiny speckles of confetti, as the tension of the score builds like an undercurrent beneath placid water.
