My Fox has arrived! To make him talk, unzip the back and pull the plastic tab out of the battery pack (and make sure it's on). Then you might want to turn it off again if you have kids around. A couple of his 15 phrases are from the bathroom with the ice fairies when he's running interference. Enough said. I wish they'd left those out. They already had "I'm about to not want to do this anymore!" which was fine without context.

Holy crap, I just casually noticed this apparently shortly after it dropped and placed my order and forgot about it. Now to learn that I only just barely got it makes me feel so much more fortunate even with another month to wait before delivery (presumably).

How is a pre-order already sold out? Isn't the point so you know how many to make/order before you order? What limit was in place if it already sold out in less than 24 hours?

So a preorder requires that they have everything lined up ready to go, for the most part- some people might do a pre-order without having a factory ready to produce but that's not great business practice, because what if it can't be made at all? I'm speculating here but I imagine they have a factory on contract to make a certain number (a number that was reasonable based on normal statistics around subs vs buyers) and we just surprised them. They'll probably need to talk to the factory or to DFTBA if they're handling manufacturing, and readjust the numbers. I've seen it happen before where a creator takes an unlimited pre-order and their factory turns them away, or people pull out because it takes too long, and it can be a really serious misstep.

Sad that I missed it; maybe a fox t-shirt could become available in the future if plushies are complicated to produce and pre-order in the volume the listeners want? I’d jump at that too….

I'm not sure I understand how a pre order can sell out. Isn't pre order to determine how many you have money to make? Edit to add: this product is exactly what we fans want from one of our favorite people, hence the disappointment and confusion. I don't want to only come in here with negative words. I'm sure Brennan already knows he's adored, but he's truly one of the best, and we of course want our little tokens of yet another fantastic experience he's contributed so much to.

My S/O works in apparel and toys and deals with the same kind of issues all the time. It makes perfect sense to do a limited release for the first run, and I’m sure there will be another given how quickly they sold out and how they can now measure the demand. So happy for your team! All the merch is fantastic and hope all the sales keep the show going and growing in the future

I understand the people getting frustrated but plushies are a big deal to get manufactured, and having thousands on back order at a factory is a great way to financially murder a podcast. For what it's worth, I'm super proud that we're all so excited, and I look forward to getting a plush when I can.

I understand everyone's frustrations but I promise you they did not expect every single one of us to try to order so give them abit it's a small team an to make this happen is alot of logistics. It's already sold out 😭😭😭 since it's such a long preorder window i thought that they were just going to make how ever many units were pre-ordered... Guess not. Why would you do a limited release of pre-orders and then not tell people it's a limited release and not tell people when the pre-order is going to drop?? So many people didn't even get a chance to order bc it randomly came out while they were sleeping or at work. A little heads up to patreon subscribers about when it drops would have been nice so people could have planned accordingly to at least have a chance to get one.
