Her emotions and relationship to Silver play a part in her decision-making but she was also uniquely situated to make a complex strategic move that may or may not pay off, but could save a lot of people! She is a flawed character, as are ALL of the characters in this world because they are well-written, interesting characters worth telling a story about. Would you prefer a character was perfect from the start of a story, learn no lessons, not change in any way as the story progresses and not have the story relate to their backstory and who they are as a character?

I was specifically thinking about this sort of idea. For myself I have a Captain Suvi "here's the goal" decision mode, and then I will go Sworn mode and it is all about what is the most optimal way to reach the goal? There have been situations where I've gotten a few questions on my implementation where my answer was "I did not optimize for that" in response to whatever the criticism is. Mostly from my unreasonable ex-wife, but still.

I never realized how badly I've been undervalued what Talor brings until "Sending". The score as the sorceror blazes through the sky like some hellenistic god gave me chills. I imagine how it might feel to these low level characters: like Myceneans soldiers watching Apollo fly in and perform some act of cosmic terror.

Suvi/Skye epitomizes a certain type of military officer in that on paper she checks all the boxes and knows all the right people. But then it comes time to lead soldiers on a battlefield and suddenly it becomes clear they may not be meant for this.

No shot disintegrate kills a creature the size of a castle instantly though. My dude probably had like 300+ hp. A 9th level Disintegrate does a max of 154 damage.
