Every other instance of Brennan, as Silver, referring to [Suvi] has been him saying Sky. Plus, I'm pretty sure it's people like Eursulon or Ame saying "Suvi" that will be heard as "Sky" by others rather than the other way around

Such a good episode! So much packed into one session. Suspenseful lore with the name cloak, touching moments between the characters, amazingly funny role play moments, internal character conflict moments, an ominous set up for next time, and beautifully immersive sound design. I LOVE that you’re talking about the indicative reflexive note again! I keep thinking of it as a particular tone that would indicate a reflexive pronoun—which then makes me think of the language of spellcasting as a tonal language, and I imagine the reflexive note being a falling tone as I think of the way sound carries and sound waves fall as they drop away, and how our own voices sound different within our own bodies than when we hear ourselves recorded and played back to us…and the way that we interpret our own voices and tones…I have so many thoughts swirling around in my brain and wow I just love that there’s space for linguistics here 😭💛

That’s fair, I do love the idea of deep platonic love that doesn’t evolve into anything else, but I also think the draw is that they have such deeply different philosophies about how the world works and I like the idea of them falling in love despite that. May I just say thank you for recommending that we listen to this in cars with good sound systems, because the episode release schedule has lined up perfectly with how i borrow my dads car to help drive wares between his two book stores two the neighbouring town, and its a pretty new car with a very good sound system. I could feel the base from the name cloak ceremony vibrating the steering wheel as I was driving on the highway while listening on probably a bit too loud volume and it was incredible. What an amazing scene, you've really outdone yourself on the editing there Taylor!

modern fencing being a sport doesn't take anything away from its roots - epeeists would in most cases demolish equally experienced fighters, because all weapons boil down to tempo and distance management. the only less applicable scenario I can think of is harness fencing, which focuses more on grappling.

I believe Brennan was likely using the word "fencing" as it is broadly understood in the modern setting to mean the specialized sport rather than a martial art. It is funny how the historical definition has drifted so far from the modern one, and can definitely make it frustrating to translate back and forth
