The Princess, The Thief and The Royal Betrothal
PART 1 - A Chance Meeting
1450AD
Nir crouched in the darkness of the alley, watching the shoppers and peasants flood the streets of the shopping district. It was a beautiful day and the streets were absolutely packed with mindless idiots ripe for the picking. Nir watched carefully, it was the start to the day and he didn't want to begin with a failure. There was a large plump man, waddling as he bumped into people left and right. He looked more middle class than anything and Nir knew he was a perfect mark.
Nir quickly pushed his way through the crowds until he was right behind the large man. He matched the man's pacing and steps for a moment only to lunge forward and bang into him very hard. The two of them almost fell to the ground as Nir grabbed his shoulder with one hand and his other on the man's side. He helped the man back up as he laughed.
“Whoa! My apologies sir” Nir waved to the guy quickly and ducked down as he disappeared into the crowd and out of sight.
Nir watched as the man felt his sides and pockets, immediately realizing what was missing! His eyes flared as he yelled at the top of his lungs!
“THIEF!!! THIEF!!!!” but Nir was already out of sight.
He tossed the bag of coins up into the air before shoving it into his pocket and scaling the side of a building rafter. Nir watched the streets below and ran from rooftop to rooftop on the scaffolding and planks of wood between them. It was dangerous, but on a busy day like this it was the only way to travel in the kingdom. He climbed down the side of a building quite far from his first mark and began scouting the crowd again. In minutes he found another mark, and then another, and then another. He had pick pocketed more money today than he had ever managed to in his life!
“The streets are so busy today!”
“Haven't you heard, the Royal Betrothal is today”
Nirs ears perked up as he overheard two shopkeepers speaking and creeped closer to eavesdrop on their conversation. He walked up and leaned by the wall right behind the two men and listened carefully.
“Princess Serena is being married today, Kings and Queens from all across the land are coming to present their sons as possible suitors!”
“Betrothal?” One of the shop keepers asked as the other groaned
“You idiot, it’s like a marriage, the only thing you gotta know is today were gonna make money!”
Nir walked back into the dark alley and looked up into the sky. He stood for a moment before climbing up the side and onto the roof into the sunlight. He could see the castle all the way across the kingdom past the main walls, it was like another world. Slowly he sat down on the slanted tiled roof and just stared across into the horizon. He had seen Princess Serene only a few times and she was beautiful… not beautiful, that was an understatement. She was a goddess, she stood above all and deserved it. Nir began to fantasize about her when his brain suddenly clicked. He stood up on the roof and looked across far to the castle as he smiled…. He couldn’t possibly do this could he?
There was a royal ceremony going on, things would be chaotic, everyone would be preoccupied. Nir could sneak in, blend in with the staff, find his way to the store room and then rob the royal family blind. It was a suicidal idea, absolutely insane, crazy…. But… so crazy it might just work.
Nir smiled as he dropped a plank of wood between the roof he was on and the house next to it. He ran across it and began making his way towards the castle.

Genevieve walked briskly down the Castle corridors until she reached Serena’s chambers. She knocked heavily on the door and waited to no answer. She knocked heavily again and heard a slight rustling..
“Princes Serena?”
“Princess Serena??? I’m coming in”
The elderly maid walked in and gasped as she brought her hand to her mouth in shock. The young Princess was laying in her bed, sprawled out and still half asleep with her hair a total mess!
“SERENA! IT’S ALMOST NOON! YOU KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS!” Genevieve said in a stern tone as she began walking around the room and tearing down the shades. Sunlight filled the room as Serena groaned and rolled onto her stomach with her face buried in feather filled pillows.
Genevieve turned back to see the young Princess laying face down with her large butt poking up into the air. She had always been very thin with just the slightest curves, but now, as she was becoming a woman, her laziness was beginning to show. Another blast of gas escaped the princesses ass but this time much more wet. Genevieve instantly stepped backwards and out of the room as Serena rolled on her giant bed in a manic state of laughter.
“I will send Amile in… with your… bedpan” Genevieve said while holding back the urge to vomit, the smell coming from the Princess chambers was nothing short of repulsive but she knew that someone had to do the dirty work. She looked over to the young woman who was already kneeling outside in the hallway. She had a fresh bedpan in front of her. Genevieve clicks her fingers and the young maid rushes into the Princesses bedside. She quickly closed the door just as it began.

Genevieve closed her eyes and grimaced a little as she let out a small dry gag. Just the sounds coming from beyond the door were enough to make her sick, she felt horrible knowing that Amile had to deal with that every morning, it was a terrible job, but without she would be starving on the streets. She quickly shook her head and wiped the thought from her mind as she began heading down the corridor. It was going to be a long day and she had many duties to attend to.

Nir had been jumping from rooftop to rooftop for over an hour and was exhausted. The castle was a bit closer but still it was going to be quite a trip. He stopped and sat on the side of a roof to take a breath when he saw a carriage heading through the main street. Normally a carriage wouldn’t take his attention but this one had two royal guards walking in the front, both dressed in the formal attire for ceremonies. It was clear they were heading to the castle! A very poor man was walking across the road in front of the carriage and a guard rushed to him, grabbing his shoulders and throwing him out of the way as he landed in the dirt with a hard thump!
“WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING SCUM!” the guard yelled in anger. A ton of townspeople watched with rage but had no courage to stand up and say something.
Nir grabbed the side water drain on the building and slid down it into the alleyway. Quickly he pushed his way through the crowds until he was right on the mainstreet walking behind the carriage heading to the castle. He peeked into the back and saw all boxes piled high with bread and different fruits.
“WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING! OUT OF THE WAY!” The guard yelled from in front of the carriage.
“YEA OUT OF THE WAY! MOVE IT!” Nir yelled with a smile on his face as he pushed people away!
Nir looked back and forth and as soon as the coast was clear he hoped into the back of the carriage. He closed the curtain behind him and grinned as he leaned back against a box and grabbed a fresh shiny apple. Now all he had to do was relax for a few hours and he would be at the castle gates in no time!
3 Hours Later
“HALT!”
Nir woke up and his eyes went wide instantly. One moment he was asleep and the next he was wide awake. He could hear footsteps heading to the back of the carriage as he rolled back behind a box and hid his body. Sunlight filled the back of the carriage and Nir peaked between two boxes to see a guard inspecting the contents.
“Good, carry on” He said in a stern tone as the carriage kept moving.
Nir crawled to the curtain and peeked out the back to see that they were heading through the castle gates, the carriage moved over a bridge and as soon as it did he took a chance and jumped out, rolling to the ground and instantly running to hide behind a bush. The castle grounds were packed with people setting up for the ceremonies and luckily no one had noticed him.
He waited and watched, this was not going to be easy but if he could pull it off he wouldn’t have to steal again for years! Slowly he made his way around the castle gardens, hiding behind bushes and looking for his mark, he had to find the perfect person. Then he saw them. A single guard, he was standing alone guarding a store room. He had a long spear that he was using as a crutch and falling asleep on. Every few seconds he would snapback awake only for his head to begin dipping a few seconds later. Slowly Nir approached him from the side and grabbed two big stones from the ground. He tossed the first stone hard against the side of the store room to the guards right! He woke up and looked over to the right as Nir came at him fast.
“HEY!” Nir yelled as the man looked back.
Nir swung his hand with all his strength, the rock in his hand crashed into the guards iron helmet with a loud CLANG as he dropped like a sack of potatoes. Nir squinted from the loud bang and looked left and right, luckily no one noticed and he quickly dragged the passed out man behind the store room. A minute later Nir came walking out, dressed to impress. The royal outfit was a tiny bit baggy on him but he only needed to pass this off for an hour or so. He adjusted the helmet and smiled as he began approaching the castle.

Chef Francis stood at the door to the Castle Kitchen watching as the guards unloaded box after box of fresh ingredients. There were a ton of fresh breads and fruits arriving and all needed to be carefully checked before anyone could eat them. Just as the last crate arrived he noticed an apple on the top had a few bites taken from it. He peered at the fruit carefully for a moment before tossing it into the trash, everything today had to be perfect.
He heard a rustling and giggling behind him as he spun quick. Serena stood there with a big smile on her face as she brought her fingers to her mouth. They were covered with thick frosting and icing which she licked up quick. The chef’s eyes drifted down to the 7 layer cake he had prepared and saw she had left a huge gaping mark.
“PRINCESS SERENA!” The chef yelled as she quickly dug her fingers back into the cake before running off!
The cake began slanting as the Chef’s eyes went wide with fear! He ran to the side of the cake and held it up with both hands.
“RAPIDEMENT! VIENS M'AIDER!!” The chef yelled as his kitchen assistant ran over to help him!
Both men held the cake and tried to stop it from collapsing as Princess Serena came rushing back around the corner. Both men’s eyes drifted over to her as she opened the cupboards and took out a large piece of chocolate fudge! In less than a second she was out of sight like a raccoon!
Serena took a big bite of the fudge and moaned as she walked through the Castle corridors. Everyone was bothering her today and all she wanted to do was relax and be alone, she knew that a bunch of men were coming to try and win her affection and had already pre planned to turn every one of them down. Dairy had always bothered her stomach, it made her incredibly bloated and brought about some of her worst gas but she had no reason to avoid it today, it wasn’t like any of these suitors would actually be up to her standards.
“SERENA!”
Serena turned to see Genevieve rushing towards her.
“THERE YOU ARE! You should be getting ready! Come come, we are so very late!” Genevieve grabbed Serena’s arm and began pulling her towards the stairs leading to her bed chambers.
“Ugh, Genevieve, there’s no rush!” Serena groaned.

Nir was walking slowly through the castle hallways, everyone was outside getting ready and the castle was quiet. The uniform he was wearing was just the basic guards garbs and inside the castle guards wore royal Armour. If he got caught he would be killed so he had to be stealthy.
“Ugh, Genevieve, there’s no rush!”
Nir hugged the wall and peeked around the corner as he saw two women heading up a staircase. He waited for them to leave and then tiptoed down the corridor until he reached the end. He peeked through the door and saw the throne room, it was massive. Slowly he walked in and saw that it was empty. His eyes were wide as he turned in circles taking it all in, the massive stone pillars, the silk cloth hanging from the ceiling. Paintings were on each wall with huge golden frames that glimmered in the light from the candles and fires. Long wooden tables lined the sides of the room for the banquet that would take place later that night.
Slowly Nir walked down the throne room until he reached the king, queen and princesses throne.
“HELLLLOOOOOO” he said loud as his voice echoed! He smiled
“WOOOOOHOOOOO” He made a flamboyant flirtatious noise and listened to it bounce off the walls as he laughed.
Nir kneeled before the empty thrones and bowed his head
“AND MAY I PRESENT, FOR HIS CHANCE AT TAKING THE PRINCESSES HAND IN MARRIAGE! NIR, THE INFAMOUS THIEF OF ALDENGAURD!” Nir smiled and stood up as he bowed and held one arm out.
He walked over to the empty Princesses throne and bowed his head again!
“Well, hello there princess… isn't it” Nir froze as he heard a loud clang behind him. The Throne room doors opened as a few maids began pouring in! Nir rushed behind the Princesses throne and gasped for air from the slight shock. He looked out from behind the throne and could see them setting the tables, getting the room ready for the banquet and ceremony.
“FUCK” Nir muttered to himself.
Nir waited for an opportunity to get out but he was at the far end of the room. No maids left, more and more kept entering. Guards began carrying in large platters of food and slowly they began moving down the throne room, closer and closer to where Nir was hiding. The Princesses throne had a large wooden base, he glanced around the chair and saw everyone slowly moving closer to him. He had to hide! He pulled on the back of the throne and the back panel slipped off! There was a small space inside her throne, just big enough for Nir to squeeze inside. He curled into a ball and climbed in the back, pulling the panel on behind him. His entire body was curled into a ball with his face pressed to the bottom of the cushion Serena would be seated on. It was so tight and he could barely breathe!
Nir grabbed the small pocket knife in his pants and maneuvered his arm up. Slowly he began cutting away at the bottom of the cushion. He cut the entire bottom away and pulled off all the stuffing and feathers until only the thin top layer of fabric was left. It was incredibly thin and he could breathe right through it now. He began to panic a bit as more and more people entered the large throne room, HE HAD TO GET OUT OF HERE!

“Ugh, i really don’t wanna do this today” Serena groaned as the maids began working on her hair, layering and curling her brown locks in a beautiful pattern.
“Which Gown do you prefer, Princess?” Genevieve asked as she held up two beautiful dresses, both adjourned in diamonds and pearls. One was bright yellow and the other a darker shade of pink. Both had large white ruffled frays around the bottom and arms. The maids all looked up to the beautiful dresses which easily cost more then they would make in their entire lives!
“UGH, i don’t care! Pick either!” Serena groaned in a spoiled manner as she reached down and held her stomach. She could feel the heat of the gas pushing through her belly and started to actually regret eating so much fudge.

Nir was in a pure panic! The Throne room was almost full, he could hear hundreds and hundreds of voices and his body was beginning to cramp up. There was no way he was going to last the night without someone noticing him, and then, he was going to be killed!
Horns began to sound as the room went quiet and a man yelled out loud letting his voice echo through the room.
“ALL RISE, FOR THE KING AND QUEEN OF ALDENGAURD, AND THE ROYAL PRINCESS SERENA”
Horns continued to play as every stood and clapped in respectful applause. All eyes drifted to the princess Serena. Beauty did not even begin to define this girl, she was a pure angel. Her light brown hair was adjourned with leaves and a Tiara made of thin golden strips. She had bright green eyes and pale fair skin with the most innocent and pure smile. Her pink gown was done tight around her chest and stomach showing her curves and features before flowing out around her waist and legs.
She could feel all the eyes on her and smiled, she hated being dolled up but loved being worshiped and today was all about her. Everyone clapped and applauded the royal family from the neighboring kingdom as they made their way up the center of the room towards the thrones. Serena grimaced as she saw Princes Andrew approaching. He was a total push over and she had known him since they were young. He was a sheepish looking young man with blonde hair and a very weak chin. He bowed and smiled to Serena but she held her head to the side not even looking in his direction. They all greeted the king and queen and then took their seats.
“MAY I PRESENT, THE KING AND QUEEN OF GALONIA, AND THEIR SON, PRINCE ALISTAIR”
Everyone clapped and applauded again as the King and Queen walked down the center of the room with their son behind them. Serena’s eyes locked in on the young man and she instantly got nervous, he was gorgeous! Tall, muscular, and she could even see a few scars on his neck that were clearly from battles. She didn’t expect to meet anyone that she would actually like today and instantly regret eating all that fudge. Her stomach began to gurgle as the young man walked over and kneeled before her.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Princess Serena” he said in a deep but also polite and soft voice.
