tomorrow is the day i would release Prisoner 3078-9B from stasis, it seemed like only yesterday i had to haul his sorry ass into his pod, he was so angry and dangerous when he first arrived, i can't imagine how much he must have changed during his sentence but it's probably for the best as his rehabilitation program had run it's course, i went over to his pod the night before and i saw him there floating so still and calm, it almost seemed wrong to wake him from such a peaceful slumber, i wonder if he's been dreaming about me... heh... now there's a thought
we did a quick diagnostic run and made the preparations of tomorrow, and while it seemed rather strange for the rest of the staff, i insisted they take the day off and that i'd handle his release personally
it's been known to happen to the most vulnerable of newly-released inmates and to be quiet honest, i've started to grow a crush on him and it wouldn't hurt to keep him with me for awhile as he he tries to gain a foothold on his new life and identity, i felt pretty sad that he had no friends or family waiting for him but if anything, i would be there for him...
“hey bud… you look like you’ve been in there for awhile, i hope you had a good sleep cause your sentence is almost up so i thought i’d release you myself”
“…”
“i don’t know if you still remember me, they tell me you they had to scrub your mind clean to fix ya so you might be very scared and vulnerable when you wake up, but don’t worry i’ll take care of ya… i take care of all of my inmates…”
