It's just one of the many symbolic ways to say "this place is not human-friendly but a corrupt corporate hell" and sadly hoverboards and good prosthetic legs were not yet made at the time </3

Reason number million why opening up a patreon was a good thing - I used to never film speedpaints of anything except on an odd occasion I was just curious about how it would look, but I started filming every single thing I work on to post here and was, therefore, able to backtrack some of my work on that previous test to realize I actually did have a point in it where I was pretty happy with everything.
And then I overrendered it haha
Overworking my illustrations has been my no. 1 issue since forever. Like I've always admired artists who can make impactful pieces out of not even way too many shapes and shadows, and I REALLY wanted to try something similar for my book illustrations. Ofc these are still pretty complex but I held back a lot, I promise hahah and I think it worked!!
I really love this much more and I'm thinking this is pretty similar to what I'll be going with for the official book illustrations. It's efficient (doesn't take more than a dozen hours to finish), it's fun, and more importantly, it makes drawing of architecture easy for once T.T Which like thank fuck 'cause that was my BIGGEST fear ahahha
I'm heading back to writing (thinking of uploading another chapter excerpt one of these days, perhaps one from Rick's crime life since those are usually pretty interesting to me) and I'm hoping to get another animation started one of these days. During edit III of the trilogy, which should be somewhat quick, I'm planning to start working on the actual book illustrations that I'll be updating you all on as I finish them <3

Yess I can definitely see how architecture might be a lot harder to depict in an illustration as opposed to an animation. I think now you’ve mastered it though!! ❤️ And aaaah thank you so much!!!! 🥹💖 I’m so happy to know all the effort I put into those lines is noticeable!! ♥︎

Architecture and trying to fit it with the characters has been suuuch a struggle for me, not necessarily in animation since I feel that's a bit more forgiving, but illustrations were a whoole different topic 😮💨 this i feel really works, I'm so happy you agree! AND YESS YOU GET IT!! And you have such neat beautiful lines in your work too so it totally makes sense ❤️ but this has been my exact issue with these illustrations for the books - i'm also extra perfectionistic with my colorpages lines and they take sooo long to do. Which is usually okay but I'd like for the books to be released eventually hahaha so I needed something more efficient that still looks just as good. Leaving the lines rough is suuuch a good way to break this habbit tho, that's kinda what I did here and it really helps a TOON ❤️❤️ i wish you so much luck with that! Abahahaha the top left Rick is my new fav as welll aah 🥹❤️ i'm so glad you love these!

YAAASSSS YOU TOTALLY GOT IT!!!!! I’m really into the style of these new illustrations✨ The architecture looks especially nice!! You did a great job making the building in this artwork fit in with the overall style of the illustration. I feel ya with the overrendering though, I do the exact same thing, but for me it’s the line work. I think I spend like 90% of my time making sure the lines are completely smooth 🤣 My perfectionism won’t leave me alone istg 😩 Lately I have been leaving some lines rough on purpose so that I can slowly break that bad habit haha These look super awesome though!!! I especially love Rick in the top left 🥹💞 Don’t think I’ve ever seen him any cuter than that <3
