I appreciate the fact you re-framed your "failure" as a learning opportunity. I will also say the reddit community for this game is great at censoring spoilers, so don't be concerned if you have to look some stuff up. They give good hints without ruining the puzzles.

You're so close to solving the utility room! There's one more step to do. You don't need any other rooms to solve it! Also, that red door downstairs doesn't require any red rooms but it does require you to do something in one other room in the house. I won't spoil what you have to do, so you can solve it for yourself!

I guess it is easy to say having not played, but that part seems pretty easy. There weren't too many puzzles need to solve that, just some luck. There is clearly way more to the game than that room though

Opening Room 46 on day 12 is crazy. I think I completed the game after like 50 or 60 days.

if you set the reservoir to the correct level you can move back and forth with the boat
