My hopes in the future is for lucifer earn redemption. He could 'die' fighting vox and earn his redemption only to appear in heaven and immediately just open a portal to hell (as he would be an angel again) and just start recking sh!t.

So, (in my opinion), the reason Jeremy Jordan's voice feels so dissonant against the instrumentation of his song is because he (Lucifer, the character), is putting on an act that he himself doesn't believe. He's trying to hype himself up and it's just not working.
