"Merm-agatha"
🕑 Added 2025-05-19 22:08:07 +0000 UTCHey everyone, here's the 1st image of May's pack!
We had Mermairis, Mermaya, now it's time for our brand new OC to be featured on a Mermay!
I love those moments in harry potter (and similar witches stories) where the spells and potions don't have the "desired effect", so I thought it would be fun to make one for Agatha, where her potion to become a mermaid doesn't exactly works as intended and she ends up being a very tiny one.
I wanted to make a bit of different perspective where you have a tiny character in a normal sized background, with a little bit of tilt shift effect.
And since she wears glasses, I thought it would be a cool detail to have her "squinting" to read the spellbook to try to find a solution =D
Anyway, hope you guys like it!

lol thanks! She'll figure out how to revert to her original form ... eventually =D

Small she may be - but going by the extreme awesomeness metric, she has achieved gargantuan success! But for shame, sir. She deserves a proper aquarium, not a sad, tiny little bowl! (Just keep swimming...)
Lee
yeah I made an "in between" version that worked a bit better imo.
Lee
thank you!
The Learned Soldier
omg she's so PRETTY???

Love the piece especially the eye color and water effect. Weirdly enough, I prefer the expression in the draft, the final product kinda looks more like she's on a really good trip.
Lee
thanks, hope you like the final version as well!
Lee
yeah =D

thanks, I thought it would be a fun concept for her and I love how it turned out =D
Lee
yeah, I had to endure watching several references of boob against glass lol
Lee
thanks!
Lee
thank you! It's a bit similar to a gemstone =D
Lee
thank you! I'm really happy with how the water turned out. Since it's so up close, I wanted to capture that "transparent " feel it has, where the shimmering is a bit "above" the surface, if that makes sense. I was really happy with how the image was progressing, but yeah, the bowl of water definitely brought everything together lol

Very cute idea for an artwork :3 and oh my gosh your way of drawing water is just phenomenal. The water effect alone shows how much work you poured into this! The beautiful water elevates the magical vibes by a lot and makes it a really pretty desktop wallpaper! Also I gotta say you made the most believable boobs against the glass effect I've seen in art.

Yo her eyes look amazing, I can't tell if they remind me of scales or flowers, but they're great

Wow this looks fantastically wonderful! I love the pressed glass effect! I hope she’s able to read her spell book well enough to get out of her predicament! 😄

Looking good. The squint is a nice detail I wouldn't have thought about. Love the pressed against glass idea, too. Can't wait to see the final version.
