I do indeed like abs, and fit girls in general, but I am just blown away by all the detail. Look at that ARMOR! Hot damn I can see the individual HAIRS on her abs.

Thank you! I had a very similar concept in mind when I did the first pin-up of Samus years ago, but wasn't quite capable of making it happen back then. There's a lot of subtle details in this type of image that are really tricky to do like making sure the muscles look correct, that the skin looks sweaty but not like she just came out of a pool, hair, lightning etc. There's also the body language, composition of the armor pieces, how the lightning interacts with everything. Those are much more complex concepts than simply "posing the model" In a way, it's really amazing to see the difference between the 2017 version and now.

thank you! I think it's really sexy when there's a subtle hint that they are all there, but not look like they are carved out on wood. This is something that I really wish more artists would do. Skin has a lot of texture and hair that interact with sweat and light. I absolutely love photographs that show the actual skin, because it makes it much more "real"

Been very excited for this piece and as always, the final painting is just glorious! I absolutely love the colours here, the warm tones of Samus's hair, skin and armour really stand out against the grey/green background, with the contrast between her skin and blue clothes also looking terrific. The armour pieces surrounding her look so good too, the metallic sheen to the oranges and reds look so striking with the bright white light. The little details are very nice too, like little chipping and scratches in the metal, as well as the thin groove lines that run through it, like on the thigh armour. Even the interior of the armour looks really well done with great attention to detail. Samus herself is simply stunning! I really love her hair, it's like there's this warm, golden halo of light that spreads out at that central swirl of hair, with the brightest edge light up top being a wonderful additional highlight that accentuates all the details even further. The level of detail in the hair is amazing and I just love all the loose strands, especially in the fringe, falling over her face and making her look extra sexy. The blue clothes look really nice too with this smooth and subtly shiny texture. I love the folds, especially around her hand where it's being lifted. I also like that the material looks quite thick and the way you've painted the folds matches that thickness. And of course her skin tones and body are just glorious! With the lighting here, she looks especially vibrant and warm and the wet, sweaty textures over the skin look amazing. I also like that the shadows in this piece are also quite warm as they define her, like along her right elbow and forearm, as well as her breasts and through her abs. All of the subtle details and plane changes, like the lighter tone cutting through through shadows on her lower elbow or the where her hips wrap around and connect to her stomach are all so great. And of course her face is beautiful too with those warm tones and great definition of her features, with those red lips looking luscious too. Absolutely terrific work on this piece! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Will definitely be excited to see the extra versions!
