Redrawing old works - preview
🕑 Added 2020-01-28 17:50:01 +0000 UTCHey everyone, I was recently organizing my stuff and found some really old drawings. And I found some that really interesting but I simply lacked the skill to do them justice.
Most of them didn't have a scene or motive behind, they were just "I drew because it looked cool". It was just stuff I'd draw while listening to classes, back when I was in the university.
So I decided to redraw a few of them, starting on this one. Specially this one because it was my very first attempt at digital painting, somewhat 15-16years ago. =D
I believe this is sort of like a fallen angel or something. But besides that, I have absolutely no clue what the scene is about. And to be honest, it doesn't really have to be about anything. It's a scene that looks beautiful and that's it. And considering when this was made, it was probably inspired by Royo's work.
So I kept the essence of it, but built upon to make it more interesting and dinamic. I also wanted to make it looks like the wings are actually supporting her weight instead of just "being there". And I removed the boots, since they look too "agressive", so I think it kills a bit of the "elegance" of the image.
This will be the final image of this month, so I hope you guys like it as well!

Thank you! I wanted to make the body more arched like she's holding/pushing herself from the pillar. I also trying out different inspiration from faces to vary them more =D And Korra and Asami are quite jealous! lol

Thanks! It was probably inspired by witchblade back then. But I think that it's a design that's too agreesive for the current idea of the image.

Thanks!

thank you!

It certainly is. I always try to give a imparcial look on my drawings and see what I can improve for the next. But after years it's fun to see the "timeline".

Thank you! It's fun to think about all the mistakes I've made back then lol

I still have a few books from him. Specially the sketchs, his gesture drawing is amazing.

Thank you! I think it's really cool to revisit some (really) old works =D

This is awesome! However, I gotta say, I dig the boots. They give me a real Witchblade vibe. Maybe you were also channeling some Michel Turner at the time.

Ooooh, this looks gorgeous! I love the pose and lighting for the character so far. She looks so sensual and elegant with her back arched and breasts rising, stomach elongated and her hips rounded as her thighs cross over, the cloth crumpling between her thighs and teasing the centre just makes her all the more alluring. And the lighting looks like it'll be great with the light shining on her front planes with strongly contrasting shadows along her side. I really look forward to seeing the finished skin and anatomy. The face also looks beautiful too, as does her hair and how the strands fall forward across her face, I also like the asymmetrical positions of her arms and legs too, I always enjoy how the anatomy of a raised shoulder looks and interacts with the chest. While the thighs moving, as if running together adds even more to her sensual feel, while the opposing curves of her calves as they flow down make her all the more elegant. Absolutely lovely work so far! πππππππππππππ Can't wait to see the finished piece πππ
