I can never tell if people are joking about this but birds are absolutely real, I see them all the time actually. I've even had an unfortunate incident where I hit an entire flock that had taken off directly in front of my car, with one of them going right through the grill. The problem is not that people don't see birds, it's just that nobody really ever looks up and even if they do see them it doesn't really stick to memory that they did.
