I love this movie. I think it's a victim of everything that came after it, because there's been a bit of a minor backlash to The Babadook as being a blunt metaphor film which I think is doing it a disservice. Lots of horror movies tried to rip this concept off, and unless they had something to say or some new way to tell the story, they fell flat. I think this one has stood the test of time. Also, if the Oscars weren't so snobby about horror movies, Essie Davis would have gotten at least a nomination. She's incredible in this film.
