The one with the deer was likely Princess Mononoke, which is definitely worth a rewatch if you don't remember much. My favorites are Arrietty and Kiki's Delivery Service, but there's so many good ones! Can't wait to see what you choose :)

Over the Garden Wall is a late fall early winter show, imo. The boys go over the wall and get lost during that time. And that's time for good hot cocoa.
