Well, I'll keep the steering committee where the most supporters are, which is Patreon for now. If that changes, and alternative site ends up as my main with the most supporters, I'll make an appropriate tier there.

I still owe you 2 years of steering committee subscription time as per the bet I lost last year, so I am definitely not leaving if Patreon turns into the shitshow that is now YouTube. That being said, is there a backup plan for keeping the steering committee and voting process in play? I read the post, but didn’t see anything about it.

Yeah, I reckon that's very possible and I hope you're right. It's possible if I'd seen the art that got axed, I might have a better understanding. Nonethless, subjectivity means anything's possible, so best be prepared.

Shit ain't new, man; Patreon does this once or twice a year, and it always goes the same: 1) Suspend a few accounts to put the fear of god into the community as a whole. 2) A few creators leave in a huff, most appeal the suspensions. 3) Suspended accounts are quietly re-activated a week or so later, sometimes with some additional CYA in place. 4) Life returns to normal, with the community reminded to be cautious about what they put under Patreon's banner. I think they do it to keep us on our toes; let us grow complacent, we get sloppy with our ass-covering, and then they have a serious issue on their hands.

I'll follow where I can support the artists I like and enjoy the content that pleases me, but this will lead to another era of fragmentation. Cosplayers will ditch Patreon for Onlyfans, Artist will shift to Subscribestar, and I don't even know where Moviemakers and Discoursers will go.
