YCHs Incoming
🕑 Added 2019-03-18 23:12:33 +0000 UTCHello, supporters! I'm making this announcement to let you know that YCH auctions are incoming and will be hosted on my old Fur Affinity account. The reason is:
I'm in the process of finally purchasing a house and I'm seeking to mitigate some of the expense of an impending move. I don't need to do this, but I'm more comfortable doing so for a bit, since houses are such a large initial hit.

They'll surely be NSFW commissions, so you will need to be logged in to an account to see them there.
I can't say how many and for how long I will do them! But it shouldn't affect things here. It'll just be me working longer days in the meantime.

Well, maybe you have a friend there who isn't banned who can bid in your stead. Work out an arrangement. I think that's probably the best work around I can think of.

It's where you bid to have your character appear in a pre-drawn sketch. YCH stands for "Your Character Here".

I tend to work with humanoid shapes. Anything too exotic and breaking of that mold will ruin the picture setup.

I'm just trying to mitigate some upcoming expenses and I'm doing something I'm comfortable with, since I've done it before and the account is already set up for me. Sorry you got banned from FA but it's the easiest place for me to get eyes in a place I'm already established. The "top items" on the front page of Furbuy didn't look like they had nearly as many views as one of my submissions. I'm going ahead with my plan as it is. Sorry.

What are the rules for characters on the auctions, or does it depend on the picture in question? Taurs, herms, weird genitals, wings, dragons, extra limbs and heads?

You mean a sockpuppet account? 1) Most artists who post auctions on FA won't allow bids from blank accounts or accounts which look too new. 2) FA's admins actually log and track IP addresses of banned users and nuke their sockpuppets. 3) I could use an open proxy tunnel, but FA also blocks all known open proxies and paid tunnel addresses - so even though it's a pain in the ass to do that it's also often blocked.

That would look reeeeallly fishy to anyone else doing so via FA. I'd probably be accused of making up bids. What's stopping you from just having a blank placeholder account and using that?

No reason you can't still advertise auctions you're running on another site from FA. That's not against their policies (yet). I guess I'd be okay with them being on FA as long as those of us without FA accounts can still place bids somehow. Are you willing to take proxy bids from those of us without FA accounts?

I don't know anything about FurBuy. I know FA can suck, but I'm betting I'd have more eyes there and have a better crack at appealing to those already watching me out of their interest for my work.

Not all of us have accounts on FurAffinity for various reasons (not least of which being judicious and unjustified bans due to shitty management), so could you post the auctions someplace neutral like FurBuy where everyone can have a fair crack at them and place bids?
