growing sideways is painful. noah gives a really nice speech before he performs this song talking about how his parents put him in therapy and he spent 9 years lying to his therapist and thinking he was working hard but not feeling any progress, hence the song, but now that he tells the truth to his therapist heās finally happier

I think new perspective is more about someone he knew gaining a new perspective on life and kind of outgrowing the town and place they both knew together; and him wanting to drag them back down to stay where he is. Love the reaction btw!

So happy you (finally) checked this out! This record is such an emotional rollercoaster and I just love his way with words and the instrumentals on it. I think it's the perfect album for fall season wether it's a long walk outside in the forest or getting comfy on the sofa, ready for a good cry. š„² Can't wait for you to listen to the deluxe tracks!

A few more emotional breakdowns in there for us all in the new songs, and the extended version of The View Between Villages is amazingly heartbreaking ! Growing Sideways is definitely my favorite from the album, and from the deluxe You're Gonna Go Far hits close to home for sure !
