I didn't have any interest in watching this originally, but it was incredibly eye opening! That smile when he was doing the first song, THAT got him the benefit of the doubt for them to ask for a second one imo. That charm and charisma. Funny to see tiny glimpses of the man he'll become in that baby face

I think the US versions with Simon he is made to be meaner than the UK versions, it's a TV persona. It's like Gordon Ramsey, apparently very nice in person and heard lots of good stuff about Simon. There is a lot of stuff written by 1D fans who like to exaggerate everything, they like to see the boys as victims to be looked after as opposed to young people who chased their dream and nailed it.
