Wang Hong was busy in his space when he suddenly felt a disturbance in his heart. He quickly left the space.
Wang Hong, who was sitting cross-legged, slowly opened his eyes and took out a magical weapon from his storage bag. A voice came from it, which belonged to Yin Ze.
"Master Wang, there's a mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator causing trouble in the store. He wants to forcefully buy ten Nourishing Essence Pills."
This magical weapon was specially prepared by Wang Hong for the Pill shop, allowing for long-distance one-on-one communication.
Compared to transmission talismans, this magical weapon was more discreet and couldn't be intercepted. Using a transmission talisman would emit a conspicuous light, which high-level cultivators could intercept.
Wang Hong put the magical weapon back into his storage bag and quickly headed towards the direction of his store.
"I'll give you only fifteen minutes. If I don't see ten Nourishing Essence Pills in that time, you'll meet your end! Hahaha!"
The mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator had Yin Ze pinned under his foot, laughing maniacally.
"Please, Fellow Daoist, spare him. I am Wang Hong. Could you give me some face and release the shopkeeper Yin for now?"
Just then, Wang Hong walked in from the door and spoke to the Foundation Building Cultivator.
"Are you the owner of this shop? You came just in time. I only need ten Nourishing Essence Pills today. Give them to me, and I'll leave immediately."
The mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator didn't recognize Wang Hong and looked down on him because of his Foundation Building first-level cultivation.
"Hehe! Since Fellow Daoist wants them, why not? I'll give them to you."
As Wang Hong spoke, he moved swiftly and appeared next to the Cultivator. In his hand, a spiritual weapon throwing knife appeared, and he sliced at the Cultivator's leg.
Seeing that the Cultivator had no intention of reconciliation, Wang Hong didn't waste words and acted directly.
This mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator had recently arrived in Boundary City and didn't know Wang Hong. He was even unaware that Wang Hong was an Alchemist.
Arriving in Boundary City, he was extremely broke. Someone paid him with a medium-grade Spirit Stone to cause trouble at this shop, promising that the highest cultivation level in the store was only at the Foundation Building first level.
The Cultivator was arrogantly laughing when suddenly, he noticed an extra figure in front of him. Then, there was a cold sensation on his leg, and he was sent flying as Wang Hong sliced off one of his legs.
Wang Hong had reached the second level of his Shifting Positions technique, greatly increasing his speed and range of movement. Therefore, as he flashed, all the Cultivator could see was a blur, and he couldn't evade in time.
After cutting off one leg, Wang Hong didn't stop there. He swung his knife towards the Cultivator's other leg.
The Cultivator, despite losing one leg, reacted quickly and managed to dodge the second strike narrowly.
"Bold! You dare to cut off my leg! None of you will leave here alive today."
The mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator, now missing a leg, could potentially recover if the leg was reattached in time. However, his anger was uncontrollable.
He summoned a flying sword spiritual weapon and attacked Wang Hong.
Wang Hong forced the Cultivator back, then calmly helped Yin Ze to his feet and handed him the severed leg.
He said, "This leg was stepping on you, so now it's yours to deal with."
At this moment, the Flying Sword was already descending towards him. Wang Hong simply summoned the Golden Light Bowl to block the attack of the Flying Sword and didn't immediately counterattack.
As the mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator prepared to summon the Flying Sword for another attack, he suddenly felt his entire body stiffen and lose strength.
"Bang!"
With just one leg remaining, the mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator staggered and fell backward.
Wang Hong approached the Cultivator, and the small knife he held was coated with a potent poison.
"How about this? If you tell me who ordered you to do this, I might spare your life."
Wang Hong spoke and struck his abdomen forcefully, dispersing the spiritual energy in his dantian. Then, he fed him an antidote pill. If not treated promptly, the poison would render him unable to speak, eventually causing complete paralysis and death.
The poisoned mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator slowly regained consciousness. His spiritual power had been scattered throughout his body, rendering his limbs powerless.
He realized that he was in deep trouble and shouted, "Kill me or spare me, it's up to you!"
Feeling that he was on a one-way path to death anyway, he chose to put up a tough front.
"Oh? So, you prefer to be stubborn?" Wang Hong said and raised his knife, severing the Cultivator's other leg.
"Now have you thought it through? If you cooperate and tell me, I might spare your life."
Wang Hong brandished the gleaming knife menacingly in front of the Cultivator, who remained silent this time.
"Well, I appreciate someone who sticks to their principles, a real hero," Wang Hong said. As he spoke, he swung the knife at the mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator once more, cutting off one of his arms.
As Wang Hong raised his knife to strike again,
"I'll talk! I'll talk!"
The mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator hastily spoke, hiding his only remaining arm behind his back. He had hesitated for a moment earlier and lost an arm as a consequence.
"That's more like it. A wise man knows when to cooperate. Tell me, who ordered you to do this?"
Wang Hong didn't put away the small knife in his hand and kept a sharp eye on the Cultivator's remaining arm, ready to strike at a moment's notice.
"To be honest, I don't know who sent me. I've only been in Boundary City for a few days, and someone found me at the inn where I was staying. He offered me a medium-grade Spirit Stone to cause trouble here every day. He paid me three thousand Spirit Stones upfront and promised more medium-grade Spirit Stones after the job was done."
Wang Hong listened and questioned him repeatedly, finding it likely that the story was true but unwilling to let him off so easily.
In the end, his hand trembled, and he accidentally dropped the poison-coated knife onto the middle-aged Foundation Building Cultivator.
Moments later, the middle-aged Cultivator succumbed to the poison, and Wang Hong removed the storage bag from his body. Then, he incinerated the Foundation Building Cultivator into ashes with a burst of fire.
Wang Hong felt no sympathy for the mid-level Foundation Building Cultivator's death. Today, he had defeated his adversary, but had he been the one defeated, he had no idea what the Cultivator would have done to him.
At least when he entered the shop, the Cultivator was toying with Yin Ze, threatening to kill him.
Now, the customers had all fled the store, leaving only Yin Ze and the shop assistants.
Wang Hong pondered that in the future, he should station a Foundation Building Cultivator here permanently to maintain order; otherwise, situations like today might still occur regularly.
