Chapter 8: The Escape Begins
🕑 Added 2025-08-06 14:48:45 +0000 UTC"What's the truth about Rin and Obito's deaths?"
"Was it orchestrated by Kirigakure… or Iwagakure?"
For the past two days, Kakashi had been completely exhausted mentally, by Yami's words and had been thinking about this matter nonstop.
Regarding the Mangekyō, he could tell that it was Yami who wanted him to pass the news to Konoha.
Although there was only an eighty percent chance, he still submitted the report.
Since then, he had been responsible for monitoring the situation in the Uchiha clan, but his mind was always thinking about Obito and Rin.
"Captain, you haven't been in good spirits these days. Do you want to take a break while I take over?"
Kakashi's subordinate said to him.
In the past two days, they also discovered that Kakashi seemed to be in poor condition.
But he couldn't give up on the recent mission, and he had to work even if he was injured.
"It doesn't matter, it will be dawn soon. There won't be any big problems during the day."
Kakashi shook his head.
He came here for the shift change.
As the captain, he naturally couldn't be lazy.
And this was a critical period for Konoha.
Although it was hard to believe that the Uchiha clan would go to war with the village, if there was even a small possibility of it happening, they had to guard against it.
After all, the lives of tens of thousands of people in Konoha were in their hands.
"Yes!"
Seeing this, the ANBU stopped trying to persuade him.
Although the surveillance had been very tight recently, there was no danger as long as you didn't step into the Uchiha clan's territory.
Both sides maintained restraint and did not provoke conflicts.
"Could it be that the deaths of Obito and Rin have anything to do with Konoha?"
"Otherwise, why didn't Yami just tell me?"
Kakashi's head was really about to explode.
Finally, he guessed that the reason why Yami didn't tell him was that Konoha was involved somehow.
The thought of this possibility made him unable to accept it.

Ziiing
But suddenly, a high-pitched noise was heard.
Kakashi, who was still immersed in thought, was suddenly awakened.
"Could it be!"
Kakashi was shocked.
This was a signal for comprehensive war preparations.
And the sound was very close, so it seemed to be related to the Uchiha clan.
Kakashi didn't hesitate and instantly entered fighting mode, pulling up his forehead protector to reveal his Sharingan.
"This is a barrier."
Kakashi discovered that the Uchiha clan's territory was suddenly covered by a barrier.
As a result, the information his Sharingan could see was instantly reduced.
The one who issued the warning was a ninja from the Hyuga clan among them.
Although the Hyuga clan as a whole was not involved in this matter, there were still Hyuga ninja present.
Every ten minutes, he would use his Byakugan to observe the situation in the Uchiha clan.
Just now, suddenly, he found that a barrier had appeared, blocking the distance that his Byakugan could penetrate.
The Byakugan, which was originally able to see through a great distance, was instantly reduced to only a few dozen meters.
All ANBU tensed up, preparing for battle.
But within the Uchiha clan, members of the police force were dispatched instantly.
A large number of shadow clones were created and rushed directly to the locations where ordinary clan members lived, preparing to evacuate everyone to the center.
"It started."
Shisui was alone inside the Uchiha clan, watching the situation outside.
He knew the evacuation was starting when he heard the commotion.
He was only told that it was today, but he didn't expect it to be in the early morning.
He felt excluded, but he was not overly dissatisfied. After all, it was him who had turned into a spy on his own family.
"I hope Konoha’s people can live a better life in the future."
"But today, I will fight for the Uchiha…"
After Shisui finished speaking, he opened his eyes, and the blood-red three-Tomoe Sharingan appeared directly.
He was responsible for intercepting any ANBU that entered the Uchiha clan.

"Move out! This is the most important moment to date for our Uchiha clan."
Uchiha Fugaku was the person in charge of leading the elite police force.
To be specific, during the meeting this morning, he had used transfer seals to perform genjutsu on these people.
The genjutsu was automatically activated half an hour ago, informing them of the specific combat situation.
All specific details were stopped until the correct moment.
"Yes!"
The elites of the police force collectively agreed.
Then they immediately dispersed and went to the borders of the Uchiha clan to contain the ANBU.
Within the Uchiha district, everyone immediately took action.
Many members looked at the shimmering portal in the center of the clan in shock.
"Get ordinary people through this light gate, quickly!"
Beside this gate stood several elders of the Uchiha clan.
They didn't have many thoughts at this time, they just wanted to leave with more clan members.
A large number of ordinary people from the Uchiha clan were ushered behind this light gate.
More than ninety percent of the people didn't know what was going on, but they believed that their clan would not hurt them.
"Are they here already?"
Yami was responsible for guarding the portal.
But he could also see that there was fighting at the front.
The explosions of explosive tags and the vibrations of fire Jutsu release had begun to appear one after another.
"The Uchiha haven't attacked Konoha yet, but only used a barrier to isolate the Byakugan's scouting?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen arrived near the Uchiha clan within a few minutes.
However, in order to prevent Shisui's Mangekyō ability, he hid in a base secretly dug underground.
"Yes, it's just a barrier that isolates detection and perception. Now the ANBU have rushed in and encountered resistance from the Uchiha clan."
Nara Shikaku nodded and said directly.
On the side, Yamanaka Inoichi used his mental power to connect to Nara Shikaku, allowing him to sense the situation on the front line and relay the information.
"How long will it take for the barrier to be broken?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen turned his head and asked the ANBU beside him.
"It can be broken within a minute."
The person in charge of ANBU spoke directly and gave the specific time.
Sarutobi Hiruzen nodded, then took out his crystal ball and used the [Telescope Technique] to observe.
He found the situation to be really strange.
What exactly were the Uchiha clan doing inside the barrier?
He had never felt so tortured by a single minute.
Yet he had to wait.
Suddenly, the crystal ball picture became clear, and the situation inside the Uchiha clan could be seen.
The [Telescope Technique] could only work in the Konoha Village, and it mainly relied on the defensive barrier covering Konoha to obtain information.
Only Konoha had such capabilities among the five major villages.
"That is!"
Sarutobi Hiruzen gestured with his hands and moved his fingers quickly to expand the picture on the crystal ball.
He saw a scene that shocked him.
A large number of Uchiha clan members passed through a gate that emitted white light and then they disappeared entirely from Konoha.
"Space-time ninjutsu!"
"The Uchiha don't want war; they want to escape!"
"Damn it! We've been fooled!"
Seeing this scene, Sarutobi Hiruzen finally understood what was happening.
