Chapter 21: Vs CP9
🕑 Added 2025-08-06 15:01:18 +0000 UTC"His strength is probably at the level of a jōnin, but he relies entirely on close combat. When fighting these people, try not to engage in hand-to-hand combat unless you have a clear understanding of the situation or are completely certain you can deliver a fatal blow."
Yami began explaining directly in front of Jabra, treating the enemy as if he were a training dummy for educational purposes.
The atmosphere suddenly became weird.
Jabra instantly lost his composure.
The fact that this person didn't take him seriously while speaking, as if he were conducting a lesson, made him frown in displeasure.
At the same time, he felt ashamed that he had been frightened by the change in those people’s eyes moments earlier.
"You've pissed me off, you brat."
Jabra snarled with an angry expression.
Without hesitation, he used [Soru] and rushed directly toward Yami.
He recognized this guy as the leader of these people, so he would eliminate him first to shock the others.
If he dared to use elites from the CP organization as teaching material, he would surely regret it.
The pupils of Kaku and the others watching from the second-floor window contracted instantly.
"So fast"
They discovered that those people including the supposed leader, had vanished in an instant, directly avoiding Jabra's attack.
"What?"
Jabra was naturally the most surprised.
But he had no time to process his shock, because he saw a massive fireball rushing directly toward him.
[Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique]
Yami had appeared beside Jabra at some point.
He formed his hand seals and released his fire technique, attacking Jabra.
“Tsk”
However, Jabra still had time to use [Soru] and directly avoided the flames.
He leaped straight upward, since there were streets on both sides with no extra space to hide.
[Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique]
Yami threw five shuriken, then exhaled five small fireballs from his mouth.
The flame wrapped around the spinning blades, taking on a claw-like formation as they rushed toward the airborne Jabra from multiple directions.
[Inu-Inu no Mi, Model: Wolf]
Jabra sensed danger and didn't hesitate to activate his Devil Fruit power.
"He really turned into a wolf."
Izumi stood on a nearby rooftop, looking at the transformation with amazement.
The others also wore expressions of surprise.
Although they had learned about this beforehand from Yami, seeing it with their own eyes created an entirely different impact.
[Iron Body: Wolf Hunt High‑Speed Scratch]
Jabra rapidly waved his hands, using his claws to create slashes similar to [Rankyaku] that directly shredded the Phoenix Sage Fire Technique.
But simultaneously, his eyes caught sight of something spinning around his body.
Shing Shing Shing
Steel wires attached to the shuriken were coiling around Jabra's form.
When they reached the appropriate position, Yami pulled sharply.
The wires contracted rapidly.
Jabra sensed the incoming trouble and attempted to use [Geppo] to escape.
However, [Geppo]'s movement speed was relatively slow, and he had just finished his slashing attack, leaving his body with no time to maneuver.
In the end, his right foot was still caught by the wire.
Jabra was about to swing his right hand to sever the steel cable…
[Lightning Release: Discharge]
Yami channeled electric current through his right hand, and the electrical arc instantly traveled along the steel wire to Jabra's body.
ZZZing
Jabra's entire form crackled with electricity.
“Argh!”
His body spasmed uncontrollably as he plummeted straight from the air.
The battle ended sooner than expected.
Itachi and the others felt as though they had prepared too much for nothing.
Kaku and his companions emerged from the house and positioned themselves directly in front of the fallen Jabra.
They regarded Yami with extreme wariness.
‘Fire and lightning…’
‘What kind of Devil Fruit is this?
This question dominated Kaku's confused thoughts.
"Itachi, I'm leaving the long-nose to you. Izumi, you handle the one with horns. The painted face and the fat man are yours, Yashiro."
Yami distributed assignments without hesitation.
Suitable opponents were difficult to find.
Yami had just demonstrated how to deal with the enemies from this world.
This world was essentially filled with heavy tanks, but ninjas were assassins; they should employ the fighting style that suited them best.
Even if they couldn't achieve victory, the ninjas excelled at tactical retreats.
After experiencing actual combat, Itachi and the others would adapt more effectively.
"Yes, sir."
Itachi and his companions appeared eager to test themselves.
"When did the World Government acquire a group like this?"
Kaku felt a growing headache.
The sensation that these opponents didn't take them seriously at all only increased their anger.
"Who are you calling fat?"
Fukurou was livid.
But Itachi and the others wasted no time and immediately launched their attacks.
Their opening moves involved kunai and shuriken.
Although they all possessed jōnin-level strength, conserving chakra remained the wisest approach.
"I can fight as well."
Shisui addressed Yami.
"There are some formidable opponents still out there, so don't worry."
"Observe here first. If danger arises, act immediately, especially to protect Izumi. She has the least actual combat experience."
Yami replied.
Yami had naturally arranged for Izumi to serve as a squad leader.
A thirteen-year-old with three-tomoe Sharingan possessed tremendous potential.
Nearly twenty older three-tomoe Sharingan users existed within the Uchiha clan.
But among those under eighteen years of age, only Itachi and Uchiha Izumi qualified, so Yami planned to train them personally.
"Understood."
Hearing Yami's explanation, Shisui offered no objections.
Simultaneously, he began observing the battlefield with careful attention.
"Why are there so many Devil Fruit users, and how can they all control fire?"
Kaku was being tormented by Itachi's relentless assault.
He had also discovered that these people could all release flames.
This revelation shocked him completely.
The situation made no sense whatsoever.
"Everyone's so slippery. Stop running if you have courage, fight me head-on."
Fukurou experienced the greatest frustration.
Being called fat had annoyed him, and the opponent he faced proved even more elusive, impossible to pin down.
The [Soru] technique that had proven highly effective in the past couldn't even catch up with his adversary.
From time to time, his target would vanish right before his eyes, leaving him unable to locate them at all, only to reappear from nowhere for brief moments.
The experience was infuriating beyond measure.
"Cough"
The paralysis affecting Jabra's body began to fade, and he coughed as he struggled to rise.
"[Lightning Release]"
Before the steel wire binding his body could be severed, Yami released his Lightning Release again.
The electric current was instantly transmitted through the steel cable to Jabra.
Jabra immediately convulsed and collapsed to the ground, his elongated wolf muzzle drooling uncontrollably.
"Normally, this level of lightning technique would be sufficient to kill most people. However, he's an Animal-type Devil Fruit user with an exceptionally powerful durability. To confirm whether such opponents are truly dead, directly piercing the eyeball with a kunai represents the fastest verification method."
Yami instructed Shisui with clinical detachment.
Shisui nodded silently.
Some of his past experiences had become obsolete, but practical combat knowledge could still prove valuable in this world.
"Something's wrong…!"
At the same moment, Rob Lucci, who had been on the street, detected the sounds of battle.
Looking in that direction, his expression immediately darkened.
He called to Kalifa and hurried back toward the conflict.
