One time when I beat a guy in a pool tournament, he got so mad he went in the bathroom and broke his hand punching the air dryer. I was good enough to be able to to win against most men that I played in the bars back in the day and the amount of bullshit misogyny I had to put up with just at that very low level makes it easy for me to understand why it is that there aren’t more women dominating the sport of billiards. PS the reason I was so good at pool is because my mother was an alcoholic so I grew up in bars, and I started shooting pool before I was even tall enough to really reach the table. :)
