Big Announcement - Patreon Hosting
🕑 Added 2014-12-22 23:01:25 +0000 UTC Because of the somewhat ambiguous line between what Patreon might consider "porn" vs. "erotic" or whatnot, I'm going to take measures to safeguard this account, and all your support, by changing what I host here. I will continue to produce the same material and have the same commission guidelines, but all content that can be construed as being X-rated "hardcore" type images featuring explicit sex, will instead be hosted on my personal website with links provided in messages for all suitable patrons to access them, along with suitable previews provided here. Images with ordinary nudity will remain and be posted as normal. This is the same system I use to share my comic pages with $6+ patrons, and it works well. Starting tomorrow, I will be deleting entries that contain explicit work. I will have the images hosted on my site and will send out a notification with where they can be found for all patrons. I would do this tonight, but I have prior obligations to attend to. This is a pre-emptive safeguard. I apologize if it makes things a little extra inconvenient, but I want to keep this account intact while also taking steps to comply with the desires of those who make it possible. Thank you!

Actually, I haven't seen any of my shared comic pages through Patreon alone being shared. I've seen one sketch series here show up on Tumblr, but people can grab those just by pledging a dollar. I think because I don't share links until pledges are processed, I'm only sending the links to people who are actually interested in supporting me. If it becomes a huge pervasive issue and I start seeing drop-offs in pledges, I may consider it. But for now, I don't think it's necessary.

While unfortunate, this sounds like a wise precaution. I wasn't aware that Patreon took issue with hardcore work until you posted this. New policy, or something they didn't always enforce? Ah well. Suppose we'll see more red panda tech school dropouts here, then!

I think a Dropbox or email of the nsfw material might be better as well, to prevent people sharing the links or passwords or whatnot? My job aside, it take a very serious offense to intellectual property theft personally. I don't want to see it eat into your bottom line and mean I don't get to enjoy your work.
