I used to be a wedding photographer. I photographed over 100 weddings over the years. Cotton Eye Joe usually did the job and cleared many-a-dance-floor. I actually watched a DJ get fired MID-EVENT when that came on. The groom calmly walked over, talked to him and his assistant briefly, and they packed up and left. The venue provided a replacement sound system. The Best Man and Maid of Honor took requests and set up a playlist on an iPhone. Went okay... not great... but it worked. :-D
