Lord Cain, Post Tour Blues
🕑 Added 2025-03-01 15:40:46 +0000 UTCBack home and adjusting to dad life again. The bus arrived back in LA at 9am Wed morning and by that afternoon I was at Charlie's baseball practice making small talk with other dads, in a daze.
Slept like a rock that night, not waking ONCE to pee in a bucket. The next night, though I woke up confused by how quiet and still the room was. Where was I? that feeling...
Missing my friends and the rhythms of the road, but hugs, snugs and hangs with me wife and kids is filling the void nicely.
No time to wallow, as Office Hours with the great Edy Modica kept me busy and yesterday I spent the whole morning in a thorough final production meeting for The Oscar Special. It'a gonna be good, I can feel it.
Naturally some crum bums took issue with my little drunk fan routine when it was posted to instagram, as if I'm not extremely grateful to everyone comes out, but it's a true ass fact of life that a few of yous are gonna have one too many, while I am generally stone cold sober and I think everyone should be able to identify with that relational imbalance. It's funny, that's all.
Someone grumbled to me in the comments that they had driven 12 hours to see me and was at the Q&A and felt like I liked my fans as much as I like donald trump... I was befuddled as this round of Q&As were generally pretty cordial and casual and very friendly, so I DM'd him asking what was up - He quickly backpeddled and said he and is friends were just a little hurt when they asked what my favorite sketch was from TIm and Eric and I honestly answered that I don't have one... I then added on, as a quip: You guys probably watch that stuff more than I do... which is true! I don't go back and watch old stuff. For a number of reasons, but this fan took it as I thought they were LAME for being a fan... no no no, i explained it's an honest answer that I am not an expert of my own work. Partly because I'm thinking ahead and partly because i'm a little embarrassed or uncomfortable watching myself. Usually when something old does pass my way, I enjoy it, but I don't seek it out as entertainment. Anyways, me and the fan patched things up and he removed the snarky comment (not that I asked him to!)
RE: Lord Cain! We some video and pretty much all the shows recorded on audio, plus lots of soundcheck jams and stuff, so I'll have to figure our what to do with all of that. But we grabbed this version of Lord Cain from Phoenix, a particularly good show for us for many reasons. Enjoy a small slice of the big show from the comfort of your sofa or bed!
Anyway, time to get back to work getting stuff together for tomorrow. Peace and Love ALLLLL!

Can you share video of the PowerPoint presentation ?🙏

maybe tim would consider doing remakes of some of the T&E sketches that weren't released in HD?
Jeff Franchetti
Lean into your early work, it's the cement that built your base. Whether it is Spaghett or T&E. Give those fans a wink.

Great vid! The band is tighhhtt
Jeeeeeeeeeef
I often have too many. I saw you and the very good band in North Hollywood and an unruly woman kept heckling you like crazy. I felt bad for you to have such an unpleasant disruptor, then died laughing when you finally got her to can it after a song, you repeatedly went woo-hoo in a droll monotone until she finally got the point. I wouldn't try to talk to you at a show, rather ya get home and get some rest! That drunk fan bit had me dying laughing

Lord Cain!!! Wish we got brick by brick in Nola - Thank you Tim!

Oh hello. I’m into it.

I dig the candidness. Thanks for being kind in the Q&A. I was feeling a little starstruck lol
Ben Hewerdine
I was shocked on an office hours you didn’t remember what the puppet from the Terry’s was from. One of the quirks of being a prolific creator I suppose.

Thank you, Tim! Drunk fan impression was very real. Looking forward to the Oscar special!

Oh Tim…I’m sorry you felt like you had to explain yourself to a fan. I’m glad you reached an understanding, but I wish fans were more neutral about things. I guess not all of them are steady OHL viewers but I don’t think one has to be to not be presumptuous like that. See Exhibit A: My sister, who hasn’t seen a single OHL episode, went with me to the Grand Rapids VIP to watch me make a fool of myself. There, you briefly expressed how you don’t really believe in “favorites” questions (as you’ve already mentioned multiple times on OHL). After the Q&A, she commented to me that she didn't think "favorites" was a good way to get to know someone. See Exhibit B: You and your friends (especially on OHL weekly) live to tease each other and callers. I’m confused as to why some people think drunk fans are sacred? See Exhibit A again: Your bit to answer my sister's question (What would you do if you didn't go down your current career path) was pure fun and one of the highlights of the night for me. I firmly believe alternate-universe Tim would still be funny in whatever he did. I rest my case. Thank you for all your hard work, and I’ll “see" you tomorrow!

same, we've all been there, we can laugh at it together

The show in Phoenix was fantastic, such a great performance from the VGB and Fred. It was also a pleasure to be a part of Hot Piss, we brought the house down! Feeling a bit blue it’s over but glad it happened. Much love!!
KD
If he was he hid himself. He'd be too shy, his admission, to meet Tim. Jules wouldn't be tho haha
Nick
The drunk fan bit was hilarious (especially knowing that could easily be me)

Thanks for the Cain train.

Was Mike Redbar in attendance in Phoenix?
Stephen Kent
That was great!

That was nice of you to reach out to that one fan. You have a unique relationship with your fans because of how accessible you make yourself. It can be a little confusing for some people. But you’re always honest with everyone and I think that’s overall a good thing. Welcome home!

If you have any footage of the Neil Hamburger cover song I would love to see it again!
