Well, I'm well late to the conversation here. What I get from this is that you, Bill, are a perfectionist. Nothing wrong with that of course, it's why I'm loving your mashups and have several on my iPod. But here I'm in agreement with Chemobob, this one sounds great and the incompatibility (although it might jar with others of your high musical literacy) really doesn't bother me. Also two of my favourite songs, so I'd love to hear it completed.

Bit late to the comment party but I agree, this may be worth finishing. The harmonic incompatibility does not come through as much as you may think. Personally, I don't think it sounds dissonant at all, even if theory makes you believe it is. I've been playing The Boys are Back in Town a lot and to me it sounds absolutely great. Keep working on it if you got the time and you can be bothered to! :)

This was actually another good combination. But you can also use Katy Perry's "Firework" and call it Thin Katy's (or Thin Perry's) "The Fireworks Are Back In Town". EDIT: I was gonna edit my previous comment but I accidentally deleted it.
