DM Stash Website Subscriptions and Migration + FAQ

Hope you've all had a Merry Christmas!
You may or may not have seen that we've recently launched a subscription platform on our website. The long short is that Patreon as a platform will no longer become viable for us in November 2025, so this is our way of getting things ready for that. We will still have MMF Tribes continuing as is, but unless Patreon reverts its planned changes, we won't have a way to operate on the platform as we do currently November next year.
As such, we've launched our own website subscription: dmstash.com/subscribe
If you already have an active (or inactive) subscription here on Patreon, moving over is actually extremely easy and won't cost you anything. In fact even if you're not subscribed anymore it will still migrate your month's of subscriptions into one neat place.
IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE MIGRATING:
If you have only recently subscribed, or have made changes to your subscription (tier level, changed to annual, etc.) please wait at least 48 hours before you process your migration. Everything that happens below relies on us manually exporting data from Patreon to our website's back end regularly for subscription info to flow through.
If you migrate immediately after subscribing or making changes, it will result in an error as our website will be operating on old data. Similarly if it's the start of a new month, wait until the 2nd or 3rd before attempting migration.
How to Migrate
1. Make or login to your dmstash.com account - https://www.dmstash.com/my-account/
2. Add payment details for your subscription on the dmstash website via payment methods - https://www.dmstash.com/my-account/payment-methods/
3. Visit Migration Page https://www.dmstash.com/my-account/migrate/
4. Select what platform you are migrating from (you can do both platforms one after another if you had subscribed on both MMF and Patreon at any point)
5. Login to relevant platform, click allow for required permission.
6. Check the products to ensure all your releases will be there
7. Click Import Now
8. Cancel previous subscription on Patreon/MMF
Note: MMF subscriptions aren't working just yet for migration but will be good to go in a week or two. That means if you were subscribed over both platforms you should be able to import both subscription libraries.
Note that this tool doesn't migrate any outright purchases that were made on MMF. It's intended to migrate your subscription and associated months of loyalty.
Below is an FAQ based on questions we've received in the past about the website. If you have any others, feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll respond!
FAQ
Q: Will I retain my loyalty + rewards?
Yes. The migration tool will calculate any loyalty rewards you should be eligible for and migrate over your current loyalty tenure.
Q: I was subscribed on both MMF and Patreon, what do I do for my migration?
If you were subscribed over multiple platforms you can migrate both and your account on DM Stash will merge those together.
Q: I'm a current annual sub, can I still migrate?
Yes, and your remaining sub term should carry over to the DM Stash website as well.
Q: I was a Kickstarter Backer, does this migrate that?
Not currently. We've had a few people ask and if there's a large amount of demand we can look into it, but it is a pretty gargantuan task and took us months to get Patreon/MMF working.
Q: What features does your website have over Patreon/MMF?
Apart from being a generally smoother experience in terms of onboarding and downloading your library (at least compared to Patreon) we also have the option of pausing your subscription. Meaning you can skip a month if you don't vibe with it and come back the next month, without losing your loyalty tenure. You can do this pretty much indefinitely, just not more than two months in a row.
It has a very cohesive and well-structured tagging/filtering system to easily allow you to find minis you own and sort them by category: i.e. look at all Tiefling Rangers you own and then compare them to the ones you don't. Models can also be sorted by release, so you can look for a single mini from a pack you own if you've forgotten the name of it.

Q: Will your website subscription have exclusive models?
No. That's not something I want to, or ever will do. I find it very anticonsumer and unfair to our supporters. I'd rather have people move to the website of their own volition because they want to support us or prefer the user experience over there, instead of paywalling models behind a certain platform like I'm a video game publisher in 2014.
Q: Are you getting rid of MMF?
No. We will always keep MMF and Tribes up. We're only leaving Patreon because of their change in business practices that will not allow us to continue operating there. I can't see MMF ever making these changes themselves.
Q: Does your website subscription sync to my MMF library?
Not at this time. We generally want to keep the libraries separate and keep fulfilment on our own website. If there's a large amount of demand for it, we will look into it.

Okay, so once the back end is updated it will unlink my account and I will need to re-link?

We try update the back end every two to three days manually. If you only recently subscribed or renewed, then it won't reflect after migrating until we've updated the back end to include your subscription. When that's done you just need to manually do steps 3 onwards again :)

I seem to be having the same issue that others have had where I have linked my account yet no subscription is shown. I see that you mentioned needing to update the backend manually. Does this mean that my account will automatically reflect my sub once that is done or is there something more I need to do?

Got the team looking into it now. It seems that the annual upgrade you did from Knight to Quartermaster has both confused Patreon and our migration system for how to track you. We'll update you once it's fixed, but may have to end up manually assigning your tier in the back end. I'll shoot you a message once we're done :)

Hi Lee, Sorry we just hadn't updated the back end in a while so it was running off your old tier. Try again in about an hour or two and it should flow through with the merchant tier. That being said, while your tier is Knight you can still purchase those old campaigns you're after, but honestly hold off because our 70% sale for our Anniversary starts on the 1st of April :)

We are going to have our website still allow delivery to MMF library. It's on the current to-do list. It will work the same as Patreon, where you download through our website during the month and it gets sent to MMF after. You wont need to lose your loyalty. Migrating to our site ensures your loyalty remains. Its only in November anyway so theres a while :)

Maaaaaaaaan, i'm basically going to have to give up my months of loyalty time aren't i? I'm sorry, but i'm not subbing on individual creator platforms. I'll sub on mmf where i can at least maintain my central library for everything i buy. I wanna be clear that I do understand why you're doing this, what with patreon being the dumb, and i'm not "blaming" you. Just sucks to lose the progress on loyalty to some stupid stuff

Thanks! On the website, it shows that my Patreon account is linked. Is there a way for me to unlink and relink it? Doesn't seem to be anything obvious.

You need to wait about 24-48 hours after subscribing before you can migrate as we need to update the back end manually. I'd suggest trying again Monday :)

I tried the migration, but it doesn't seem like anything happened. It says the account is linked, but my subscription and downloads aren't showing as active. Any idea how I can resolve?

Most major bugs have been sorted. A lot of the comments here were in relation to launch which was bound to have a few minor hiccups. We also dont handle any credit card details, everything is stored on Stripe.

It should automatically happen but we need to manually update our websites back end regularly. You might have subscribed and migrated between that window. We will let you know once you can try again :)

Yes of course! Any tier can migrate and people in the middle of an annual sub can too.

I can't do step 4 as it just says account linked. And will cancelling here and reactivating there affect my annual subscription? Won't I be double paying then?

Just repeat steps 3-5 in this post and it should go active. Worst case scenario if you manually activate your sub there and cancel here that will work too. It wont affect your tracked loyalty or anything

Youre always welcome to sub on Tribes. We are only doing this because Patreon isnt going to be viable for us to continue operating on. Theres going to be hiccups this early in development but I'm confident by the end it will be a better platform than any of our competitors.

Added payment method, went to Migration Tool - stuck in no payment added loop. This kind of friction is why outsourcing non-core competencies is the right business move. I had previously eliminated all subs that didn't distribute via MMF and this is just another reminder of why.

Made an account, but there is no paypal option for payment methods, so I can't go further. It also will not sync without a payment method. I guess I'm sticking with MMF, as I can use paypal there.

I will must likely migrate to your website. But I'm really interested to have it sync with my MMF account. Have many library is not that fun. I have loot studio and flesh of gods and i dislike how they manage there files. Having many different website to sort to get the perfect print i need doesn't seems the best idea to me.

If you move from here to mmf theres no way for mmf to track that. But if you do that then use our migration tool to move to our site it will assign all the continous months over both mmf and patreon to your account that way.

From my understanding MMF is actually revamping its back end for us to view our Tribes/Users so when that's done, provided it ticks the boxes we need to track merchants, we'll enable merchant subs on Tribes. We have big plans to make our website the best place possible for our merchants as well, but do understand the need to have a shared library. We're definitely taking it into consideration.

I understand why you are going this route, but I would like to respectfully request that you consider syncing website subscriptions to the MMF library. (Merchant Sub here). MMF Tribes does not have an option for Merchant membership, which pushes merchants to the website subscription option. However, DMStash is not the only creator doing this. Continuing to Sync to MMF library means your merchants can maintain a single library with access to all files. As more sculptors move away from Patreon, it becomes more complicated and cumbersome for those with multiple subs to keep track of all of their monthly files
