An Exquisite Downfall, Chapter 2

When he was 22, Cooper Braskins was in love.
No, love is not quite the right word for it. Love implies a sense of regard for the other party. It was more like infatuation, or hyperfixation.
His roommate, Ryan Masters was frustratingly charming, and devilishly handsome, though Cooper could tell if he was fully aware of the effect he had on people. Then one day, Cooper stumbled across something in his elective psychology course that shifted everything. A chapter on the ethics of Hypnotherapy. Cooper had never really paid much attention to hypnosis. He had always thought it was something they used in those old cartoon shows, but not something to be taken seriously.
He quickly discovers how wrong he was. Next thing he knew he was pouring over all the materials he could get his hands on and working to perfect his craft. Sure his grades fell behind, but he’d have ways to fix that soon.
“Hey Ryan,” he said coming home one day. “I wanna try something.”
Of course Ryan put up some resistance to the idea of being hypnotized to improve his performance, but when Cooper suggested it’d give him an edge over the rest of the class he was all in. Cooper lead him through an induction of relaxation, and counted him down into deep trance, all very by the book and sure enough, Ryan took to hypnosis like a fish to water. At first Cooper was careful, doing everything he said he would, while also leaving a trigger to return Ryan to this state at any time. That’s when he took his first risk. “Hypno Boy Toy” he set as the trigger. That what he wanted Ryan to be one after all. He flinched when he said it, wondering if the peculiarity of it would fling Ryan out of trance, but sure enough it worked. Food his own amusement, Cooper added that no matter what happened, Ryan would continue to believe he’d never been tranced before, and any changes that occur will have come from Ryan’s own mind. Cooper liked Ryan, just as he was. He didn’t want to render him a mindless servant.
Cooper began taking Ryan down every day, to reinforce the initial programming. As time went on, Cooper got bolder and bolder. At first it was simple. He told Ryan that to ignore his presence unless he suggested otherwise. It’s not that Ryan would ignore Cooper altogether, but simply that he wouldn’t mind Coop hanging out in his room, on his bed, watching get naked. Coop could be as near or far from Ryan, and it wouldn’t matter. Ryan would just keep on studying, or researching, or on the rare occasion he relaxed, watch tv.
He just couldn’t touch Ryan, at least not at first. That was his next task. He made it so that Ryan would not only ignore his presence, but his touch. He’d allow Cooper to grope and molest him, unbutton his shirt, jostle his hair, without a word of resistance or remark. Cooper was eager to try this one out.
