Chapter 6: Foresight In Action
🕑 Added 2025-05-14 15:18:03 +0000 UTCThe physical examination was carried out in an orderly manner.
Kai and Chamberlain were ranked at the end of the substitute team without attracting any attention.
The players began to walk into the medical examination room one after another.
After waiting for about half an hour, it was finally his and Chamberlain's turn.
The two walked in together.
There was a large space inside, with treadmills and various instruments. The players wore oxygen masks and were covered with various medical instruments to conduct a full range of medical tests.
There are several team doctors in white coats recording something.
"Next group!"
Soon, the team doctor shouted.
He walked in with Chamberlain.
With the help of the team doctor, the two took off their jackets and T-shirts, affixed various medical equipment, and then started jogging on the treadmill.
The team doctor would adjust the frequency and speed from time to time, and the athletes would adjust to the coordination.
Soon, the two passed the medical examination.
Kai has recently undergone special training, so his physical condition had been significantly improved.
The medical report will be sent directly to the coaching staff. It was not necessary and will not be distributed to the players.
He and Chamberlain put on their clothes and prepared to leave.
As soon as the two walked out of the medical station, Kai had a face-to-face with someone.
"It's you?"
Arshavin looked at Kai in surprise.
He was extremely impressed by Kai, who successfully defended against him in the warm-up match last season.
The clean tackles and the well-placed blocks seemed to predict the direction of his breakthrough in advance. It can be said that in that game, the trouble he caused Arsenal was even greater than the entire back line of Sporting Lisbon.
Seeing Arshavin, Kai's eyebrows jumped.
As a player, Arshavin was notoriously bad-tempered.
Now conflict with Arshavin was not good for him.
Kai looked at Arshavin vigilantly.
Arshavin glanced at Kai in confusion, and immediately smiled bitterly: "You think I'm going to fight you?"
Kai disagreed readily whilst scratching his head.
Arshavin smiled and waved his hand, "I'm not that bad-tempered, and those two interceptions were beautiful, weren't they?"
Hearing this, Kai raised his eyebrows and said, "Really?"
Arshavin smiled and said, "I won't make such a joke to you."
He looked up and down at Kai and said, "So, you have come to Arsenal? The Professor still likes to train young players. I wish you a good time at Arsenal!"
After, Arshavin turned and left.
On the other hand, Kai looked at the other party's back for some time before turning his head to look over, he found that Chamberlain was standing behind him, looking on with interest.
"Let's go, man!" Kai smiled and patted Chamberlain on the shoulder.

[Head Coach Office, Arsenal Training Centre]
Pat Rice was sitting with Wenger.
The expressions of the two of them are not particularly happy.
Pat said, "The players are not in good shape."
Wenger nodded: "I understand that they were affected by Cesc Fabregas' departure."
"This season, we will rely heavily on Van Persie."
Wenger didn't answer. After a while, he said, "I'm going to introduce a few players before the end of the transfer window."
Pat Rice shot, "Oh, so you're willing to spend money?"
Wenger looked at him helplessly and said, "You don't have to mock me like this, I'm not feeling too well now."
Pat was silent for a moment and said, "I also need to vent."
Sigh
Wenger exhaled and said, "We need to apologize to Vieira."
Vieira, the former captain of Arsenal, to support Cesc Fabregas, Wenger sold the captain who made great contributions to Arsenal. And with Vieira's departure, it represents Arsenal's complete farewell to the Invincible era.
Both fell silent.
After a long time, Wenger slowly said, "I don't know if it is because of my age, but I have begun to doubt myself."
"Our football is good and beautiful, but we don't have a championship."
Pat Rice was startled, he said quickly, "You can't think that way. what we did was fine."
Wenger waved his hand and interrupted: "I used Bergkamp to inject technical football factors into Arsenal. At that time, I was sure that this was the future path of Arsenal."
"To implement the beautiful game more thoroughly, I drove away Vieira and established a new system with Cesc Fabregas as the core."
"But it's this system that has kept us without a championship for six years!"
Wenger's expression began to become a little turbulent. You could the stress age him in real-time.
Pat was a little frightened.
He has worked with Wenger for so many years, but seriously, this is the first time he has seen Wenger like this.
Perhaps, Cesc Fabregas' departure completely shattered Wenger's last remaining persistence in such a football style.
Wenger kept taking deep breaths to adjust his emotions and calm himself down.
He rubbed his face again and then said, "I understand Ferguson a little now. Sometimes it is wrong to blindly pursue possession football. We need someone like Vieira to inject some grit and determination into the team."
"Like who?" Pat asked.
Wenger shook his head and said, "I don't know, Pat. I'm just waiting for the sign."
Wenger's eyes looked out of the window, and his deep eyes looked at the endless blue sky.
He was looking for someone who could give Arsenal some upliftment.
He believed that this man must be somewhere.
Fate might guide him here.

[Training ground, Arsenal Training Centre]
"Come on! Let's compete! How about you getting the ball past me?"
After returning to the training ground, Kai said impatiently.
He hasn't touched the ball for weeks, and he's about to get sick.
In this regard, Chamberlain also showed a strong interest.
Chamberlain has full confidence in his skills; he was a known genius of the Southampton wing attack.
Kai took out a ball from the equipment room and threw it to Chamberlain.
Then stood five meters away from the opponent and hooked his hand, taunting Oxlade.
"Come."
Looking at Kai's provocation, Chamberlain's competitiveness was aroused, and he decisively swung the ball forward.
Chamberlain's dribbling was not fast, and the distance between the ball and his feet was not far. He kept at an acceptable distance to perform dribbling maneuvers or step on the gas pedal for breakthroughs.
Kai faced Chamberlain, squatted down a bit, and raised his right and left arms forward and sideways, blocking the breakthrough passage.
This was a very common defensive move.
In this regard, Chamberlain scoffed; he planned to accelerate and directly use the speed to bypass Kai.
But just as the ball was about to touch the instep of his foot, a presence suddenly appeared in front of him, blocking the way.
Chamberlain panicked, his rhythm was interrupted, and the ball hit his feet and bounced toward Kai.
Kai stepped on the ball with his feet, straightened his body, and looked at Chamberlain with a smile.
The latter was stunned.
But soon, Chamberlain said, "No, let's do it again."
Kai kicked the ball back and withdrew to the five-meter position, making a squatting action to block the lane.
Chamberlain took a deep breath; he understood that the Asian man in front of him couldn't be underestimated.
He started to dribble forward in a much more cautious manner this time.
But Kai still maintained his posture.
The two people were two meters away from each other and took small steps.
The two were very patient. After advancing almost five meters, Chamberlain couldn't help but prepare to sprint forward again.
Sure enough, Kai was blocking in front of him again.
But this time Chamberlain had enough preparation, abruptly stopped speeding, forcibly twisted his waist, and changed direction, trying to break through from the right side.
But in the next second, the ball did not move.
The ball seemed to be held up by something.
Chamberlain also couldn't bear the inertia and fell on the pitch.
He turned his head up and found that Kai was still stepping on the ball and looking down at him with a smile.
"Again!"
Chamberlain was a bit frustrated, he was blocked by his peer twice, which made him a little flabbergasted.
"How…how did you do that?"
Chamberlain patted the grass off his chest, got up, and asked.
His two consecutive dribbles were seen through by Kai.
Chamberlain had to admit that his trickery was not that obvious. How did he judge it?
Moreover, Kai's blocks were too decisive.
In response, Kai shrugged, "Talent and hard work."
Sighing, Chamberlain restarted the game.
The two began to play.
For the first time in his life, Chamberlain felt what despair is.
A close-range battle with Kai was a nightmare.
This guy could see through his fake moves with almost 100% accuracy.
You could only break through this guy's defense when you sped from a distance, since Kai was not fast.
Chamberlain suddenly felt that Kai was very terrifying.
In 30 total breakthroughs. Chamberlain successfully broke through 5 times. These five times were at a distance.
From this, you can see how powerful Kai's stealing and intercepting techniques were.
In the game, Kai was happy with his improved endurance. But he knew that he had two limitations restricting the perfect use of his foresight. One was his speed, which was exploited later in the game. Players with fast enough speeds could keep a distance from him without any physical confrontation.
The other was his teenage physique. Foresight was mentally and physically draining in high-intensity games, especially if he was on the receiving end of the opponent's offense, since he had to run a lot to clear the dangers.
Sigh
"I am sure the coach can help me improve in these areas."
"Hey, mate!, stop muttering and get on with the game."
Kai released a not particularly amiable smile and said," You are so dead now."
