OPEN POST: DM Stash Dec 2021 Release - Frozen Wastes of Oldavor
🕑 Added 2021-12-01 07:03:00 +0000 UTCWelcome! Here you may find the spoils of our December release: Frozen Wastes of Oldavor. Probably our most ambitious pack yet, this is available to all Patreon subscribers who support us in December.
Once the pride of the ancient Goliath Empire, now reduced to a wasteland constantly blanketed in snow. The Goliaths that still survive in the frozen wastes of Oldavor are few and far between. Food is a rarity and the small villages in caves and other subterranean areas don’t give much room for a society to grow. Though worse than the endless snow is the creatures that lurk within: enormous worms that sift beneath the white, shapeshifters capable of changing their form to anything they consume and worse still are clans of Psyflayers deep in the ruins of many fallen Oldavori cities, unleashing their own horrors to the surface below. Only the rangers of Letzte Uhr and other watchposts along Oldavor’s border can hope to keep the horrors at bay from the rest of Tharador.
Included in this month's STL Pack is:
- 6x high quality beasts and monster .STLs in both 32mm and 75mm scale (minus Nilth who is only 32mm scale, still measuring almost half a foot).
- 6x high quality character .STLs in both 32mm and 75mm scale
- Pre Supported variants of each character (.lys files included)
- Horrors of Oldavor - Abominations evolved or concocted in the desolate icy plains of Oldavor. Some created by the Goliaths before their empire fell as weapons against humanity, now left unchecked to breed and wonder the lands. Others, megafauna with no predators to keep them in check.
- The Watchers - Volunteers, mercenaries, soldiers, convicts and exiles that man watch posts along the Oldavor border to ensure in the winters that no horrors travel beyond. This includes primarily Goliaths and their own beasts that might travel, though rumours of Shapeshifters posing as reindeer or even rabbits also keep the Watchers on their feet.
Included in this month's campaign is:
- 1x Full size A2 printable map of Oldavor Brightstone Border Region.
- 1x Full size A2 printable map of the garrison of Letzte Uhr and the city of Flussende.
- 4x Encounter maps set within Oldavor’s wastes and its ruins
- 1x Original short-length 5E module set within the garrison of Letzte Uhr and the southern reaches of Oldavor. Continuing directly on from our last campaign (The Darkwing Conspiracy) or can be played independently!
December’s Campaign - Shifting Snow, is very much a campaign of survival, mistrust and paranoia. The party is thrown into a hopeless situation and in every person they meet, there is a sense of dread and unusualness. The direness of their situation is truly realised when the party first encounters a Shapeshifter, able to imitate whatever it has consumed almost perfectly, and able to strike suddenly and without warning in an incredibly deadly manner.
We hope that these previews pique your interest in our works! You can also purchase from our website directly, or MMF if you'd like to test a model or two before pledging!

'ello, just joined, so I'm not sure if there's a sophisticated backstory behind that (i.e. has something to do with a certain, more literal, item in the campaign), but here's some minor feedback: 'Letzte Uhr' should probably be 'Letzte Wacht'. 'Uhr', in case of 'watch', is a wrist or pocket watch. Wacht is the term for keeping watch (Wache would be more modern).

Thinking of buying a 3d printer any suggestions

Thanks

I'd suggest looking at local hobby groups on Facebook or something as a lot of the cost comes from time/labour/shipping as opposed to materials. It'd be best to find someone local who can help :)

This was honestly the most fun campaign I've ever run/written. Really play on the paranoia of the party and you'll all have a great time :P
