Yuno X Eliza (1)
In Second Prince Heinrich’s private palace, Heinrich was discussing the matters raised at today’s state council with his close aides.
“Your Highness, what will you do? If the Empress retires to the countryside like that, there will be fewer forces to check the Crown Prince’s ascension, won’t there?”
“No. Even if the Empress stayed, she wouldn’t support Yuno for the throne. If anything, she’d only strengthen Prinz’s position through Yuno. Letting her retire with Yuno is for the best.”
“But the power of Duke Windrage is still strong, isn’t it? With that fool Kent now almost certain not to inherit the ducal house, that stubborn old man will support the Crown Prince by the book.”
Heinrich’s faction had planned to use Kent to block the movement of Windrage’s forces, so with that plan now foiled, they had come to consult with Heinrich.
“We’ll see. Think about who the princess I’m marrying in two weeks is, ha ha ha.”
“Huh! Could it be…?”
“Yes. Why else would I get a marriage proposal? It’s already been agreed with the King of Leon. If anything happens, Leon will raise an army to check Duke Windrage. That old man’s forces won’t be able to move, so don’t worry. Ha ha ha.”
“But won’t there be a price? Isn’t it too much…?”
“When I ascend the throne, I’ve agreed to return the imperial territory on Poligal Island.”
“That… that can’t be, Your Highness! That would completely close the empire’s eastern coast! Please reconsider…”
“Ah, Count Dietrich. I know your merchant fleet operates there and makes a tidy profit. But don’t worry, ha ha. Who cares about some promise to those Leon fools? There’s no official document, ha ha ha ha.”
At that, Count Dietrich’s expression brightened, and the other retainers praised the prince’s decision.
“But Your Highness, when you become emperor, Princess Rachel will be empress… If you break the treaty, she won’t just sit by. The current empress may be hands-off, but the empress has enormous power in the empire.”
“Hmph! Make that woman empress? How rude. The portrait Leon sent shows she’s got way too much useless flesh on her chest! And they expect me to take a woman over 24 to bed? Ridiculous!”
“Hehehe, then…?”
“She’ll remain a virgin until I’m crowned. After that, do what you want with her! A woman with such vulgar breasts doesn’t deserve to be empress!”
‘Once I’m emperor, all the little girls in Father’s harem will be mine!!’
Heinrich licked his lips, thinking of Karl III’s concubines.
“Hehehe, thank you, Your Highness! We’ll serve you loyally until you become emperor.”
“Good! That’s all for today! I can’t wait any longer to see the girl I brought in!”
As Heinrich adjusted his trousers and dismissed them, his retainers bowed and left.
“Yes, Your Highness. We’ve nearly finished investigating the Crown Prince’s scandals, but we’ll secure more evidence.”
“Good. I’m counting on you.”
When the last to leave, Count Dietrich, closed the door, Heinrich opened a bookshelf and headed for a secret passage.
There, in the secret harem he had set up, Heinrich began to enjoy himself.
Meanwhile, Yuno was wandering between his palace and the empress’s palace, searching for Eliza.
Yuno tried to sense her with his aura, but since Eliza, thanks to Lichtenauer’s lessons, was nearly at master level and had a particularly subtle presence, she eluded even Yuno’s sharp senses. So he kept calling her name as he searched everywhere.
“Eliza!! Where are you~?”
“Ugh~! So noisy~ Let me sleep! I stayed up training with Master last night and ran with you this morning I’m exhausted…”
Finally, Eliza appeared from her room, hair tousled and in pajamas. Yuno ran over and hugged her.
“Yu… Yuno? What’s going on? Why so suddenly…”
As Yuno hugged her, Eliza’s heart pounded wildly.
‘W-what’s with him? Is he… confessing? Eek! I look like a mess right now!!’
Bang!
Eliza, flustered, pushed Yuno away with mana and ran back into her room.
“Hey! Eliza! What’s wrong all of a sudden?”
Rattle rattle
When Yuno tried to open the door, it was locked, and Eliza shouted from inside.
“Don’t open it! If you do, it’s over for both of us! I’ll be out in 30 minutes, so wait in the back garden!”
Chastened by Eliza’s tone, Yuno headed to the garden.
As he paced, thinking about how to explain the situation to Eliza, he heard her footsteps behind him and turned around.
“Eliza…?”
There stood Eliza, not in her usual training or military clothes, but in a dazzling white dress.
She looked so beautiful that Yuno couldn’t look at her directly and had to turn away.
‘W-what? Is that really Eliza? Why is she so pretty? She was always cute, but today…’
“Yuno? Why’d you call me and then turn away?”
Eliza poked her head under Yuno’s gaze and saw his blushing face.
“Aha~ So I looked that pretty to you~ Hehe, how cute~”
“N-no, that’s not it!”
“Hehe, sure it isn’t. Anyway, I’m ready now, so tell me. What were you going to say earlier?”
Eliza pushed out her large chest, ready to hear Yuno’s confession.
‘Hehe, all that training together and showing off my big boobs must have paid off… Still, trying to confess to a girl in pajamas… Yuno, you’ve got a lot to learn.’
“Eliza…”
“Yes, Yuno?”
‘Wow, he’s really dragging this out. He’s usually so bold, but now…’
“You’re going back to the Kingdom of Leon… Your sister will come to the empire in your place…”
“Yeah, so as your girlfriend wait, what?”
Eliza, who had assumed Yuno was about to confess, widened her eyes.
“Hey! Yuno. What do you mean? You want me to go home?”
“Yeah… The King of Leon proposed a marriage between the second princess and Heinrich, and the state council approved it, so in two weeks… cough!”
When Eliza grabbed Yuno by the collar, he couldn’t finish his sentence and started coughing.
“What nonsense is that! Why am I here, then? That damned father sold me off, and now that I’m happy with your family, he wants me back? Rachel can replace me? What is this!!”
“Eliza…”
Eliza let go of Yuno’s collar, grabbed her head, and sank to the ground.
“No… I don’t want to go… I can’t… I love it here… Empress Yuria is like my real mom now… Isabella is like a real sister… Marie is my beloved little sister… and you…”
She stopped herself from saying more and pounded the ground in frustration. Her white dress became dirty, but she didn’t care.
Tears welled up in Eliza’s sea-blue eyes and began to stream down her reddened cheeks.
“Eliza…!!”
Unable to hold back the surge of emotion, Yuno hugged her tightly.
“Let go… I have to go anyway…”
As Eliza tried to shake off his arms, Yuno spoke from the depths of his heart.
“I love you! Eliza!”
At Yuno’s confession, Eliza froze.
“I’ve been thinking about my feelings for you for a long time… It might be too late… but I want you to know how I feel.”
As Eliza stared at him in a daze, Yuno continued.
“At first, I thought we were just childhood friends. I thought my affection for you, and how precious you were to me, was just friendship because we always took the same classes and trained together.”
“So… you’re saying it’s different now?”
“Yeah. When I heard in the council that you had to return to your kingdom, my heart sank. The first thing I thought was that I couldn’t let you go. That’s why I came to find you right away. I’ll say it again. I love you. Please accept my love, Eliza!”
As Yuno finished, Eliza’s tears began to fall again.
“Huh…? Y-you don’t want me to go?”
“Waaaah!! Why are you only telling me now!! Why!! Why!!! Do you know how long I’ve waited!! Since I was twelve!! You idiot!!! Waaaah!!!”
Eliza sobbed in Yuno’s arms.
After a long cry, Eliza finally looked at Yuno, who smiled gently at her.
“Hmph~ How ridiculous…”
“Hehe, so you’ve liked me since you were twelve? Huh?”
Blushing again, Eliza nodded shyly.
“Sorry… I made you wait too long.”
“You’re so mean… really…”
When their eyes met, Yuno hugged Eliza again, and naturally, they kissed.
It wasn’t a deep, adult kiss with entwined tongues, but a fresh, loving kiss between new lovers, and both were thoroughly satisfied.
“Geez… To think we only just tried this now… If you’d confessed earlier, we could have enjoyed this a lot more!”
“…Then you could have confessed first… oof!”
Like Yuria, Eliza smacked Yuno on the back, and he writhed in pain.
“How could a lady confess first? What are you saying…”
‘Then is it okay for a lady to hit people like this?’
Yuno wisely kept that thought to himself.
“So what now? I have to go back to Leon in two weeks…”
“I’ll come for you soon! I’m not old enough to marry yet, but… when I’m 22 no, just wait until I’m 21! I’ll mobilize everything to come propose to you, no matter what!”
“Hmph… You’d better not be late! I won’t forgive you if you are… I’m 19 and 5 months now, so… 1 year and 7 months left! Got it?”
When Yuno nodded, Eliza stepped up, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him again.
“This kiss is our promise, okay?”
“Yeah…”
And so Yuno and Eliza became lovers, walking hand in hand through the empress’s garden.
But in his happiness, Yuno didn’t notice the jealous eyes watching him from within the empress’s palace.
