Sigil 2 - Not Too Rough
🕑 Added 2023-12-14 14:09:58 +0000 UTCJust like last time, I've got a short video to talk about John Romero's new sadism machine/Doom episode. This is a quick look at an episode that is basically extra Sigil with a blue sky and more Cyberdemons. It didn't gel with me quite as much as the last one and I hope I do a decent job of explaining why. It's still fine, and I'd still really like to see what Romero does with a Doom 2 episode.
In this hectic holiday season, consider this an amuse bouche to the upcoming Christmas video where I play some un-seasonal trash because it feels like forever since I've played some trash. I promise that the trash is exquisite, boutique, high-class garbage, the kind you find in a dumpster outside of a restaurant you can't afford to eat in. That video was in progress when Sigil 2 came out, so it'll be up for you guys sometime next week.
Keep it greasy,
-Civvie

Or if you want one of those fancy colored names that everyone gets now if they want. The credits in the video are usually a couple of days behind the actual patron list so if you don't see your name, it will be in the next upload.

Just got around to watching the video. Good stuff as always, but the shout out to dethklok was great.

Got to see them in September and do a meet and greet with Brendon and Gene. Even got Brendon to sign a poster of my roommates cat named Toki. Getting to tell them guys how brutal and awesome their music is in person was extremely metal.

No need, I saw it already and added it to the list, was just too busy to reply 👍

Oh man. I was going to wait with watching this video until i played through it but its just kicking my ass and not in a fun way. That map 1 start is brutal. No cover, hitscanners and hurtfloors restricting my movement everywhere, health is scarce, and i barely have enough ammo to kill the enemies in front of me, let alone the snipers plastered around the ledges everywhere Its getting put away for later, this aint fun.

Petty Thief: The Black Parade, Civvie? I finished it up last weekend and I absolutely loved it. Thank you for this video. I will be getting to Sigil 2 this weekend. EDIT: I successfully did the whole pistol start UV-Max no saves hardcore thing and boy, it felt more like a military drill than straight fun. Romero made a ball-busting set. I still enjoyed it though and I am glad he made it.

I managed to catch Romero working on levels for this on Twitch a couple of times. Felt like watching George Lucas build models.

I’m proud of you for not saying “doom is eternal” at the ending of the- oh you said it anyway

Man reading that description I was like it can't be -that- long since Civvie's played a bad game, and then I remembered Chaser was last year, god damn
Ioannis Pelegrinis
It's exactly the sort of epic design you'd expect from a game with 30 years of modding! They are still updating and ironing out the kinks, but it's a very solid experience so far.
Aoife Rowan
hey Civvie, a delight as always; I'm in your credits as Dan McKechnie, could I get that changed to Aoife McKechnie? thanks xoxo

Jank is jank
Civvie
It's not SLAVjank... but it is a kind of jank.
Shawn Grant
I always figured Romero would really love Doom Cute.

Confirmed, Civvie likes Dethklok, Hell yeah! Also, happy 30th birthday Doom!

I can't wait to get called on in a meeting and be noticeably upset in my response because I'm being interrupted from watching the new Civvie video

Based "Siggle" Denier, great start already

That little sequence with the imps and shotgunners coming out of the graves was just adorable.

bounced on my boy's sigil to this for hours
Mateusz Bartoszek
Hell yeah. Nice way to celebrate 30 years of DOOM as well.

A fine morsel while waiting in anticipation of your Christmas vid regarding some fancy trash! 👨🍳

I just found out that the Spider Mastermind's health was increased for Sigil 2. I assumed there was some kind of level trickery that made it so I needed to hit it 10 times with a BFG BUT NOPE, ROMERO WAS BEING AN ASSHOLE.
Old Gamer Guy
So are we going to get a Slavjank Christmas?
Civvie
I haven't gotten a chance to play Eviternity II yet. I bet it's just as impressive (if not more) as the first.
Ioannis Pelegrinis
While it is definitely interesting to see what Romero can do these days, the new episode felt a bit flat. It probably doesn't help that Eviternity II also came out these days.

Once again, I think "gee, I wonder if civvie has made another video" and then I get the discord notification. Love your work.
