BLIND STALKER #2
🕑 Added 2023-07-25 14:10:20 +0000 UTCHey kids,
Continuing with STALKER because I would like to have a somewhat consistent release schedule for the series. You know, until October, when I have to do spooky games. The end of this video might qualify as horror but in the way that's adorable because they're trying but it's also awkward and jank.
Also, I've attempted to use Patreon's new video hosting feature to make it so that you can see it here directly instead of YouTube. If this doesn't work, I have a YouTube upload ready to go. We'll see. Let me know in the comments.
EDIT: Fuck it, here's the YT link, because people are having some buffering issues:

I had a lot more fun with this episode than the last and not just because I was crouching more and didn't constantly run out of stamina. Everything that happened was new to me and I was actually enjoying it. You know, except the times the game was killing me by what seemed like random chance, but even then I knew those deaths would, at the very least, be funny to watch.
Love y'all,
-Civvie

Patron discord link:
If you'd like to have a different name in the credits than what you pledged with, leave me a comment, or DM me on here or Twitter or discord or whatever. If your name is wrong, not included, or anything else, shoot me a message calling me an asshole and telling me to fix it.
Or if you want one of those fancy colored names that everyone gets now if they want. The credits in the video are usually a couple of days behind the actual patron list so if you don't see your name, it will be in the next upload.

The intro to this series SLAPS!
punktum
do you like s.ta.l.ke.r there are two more games
Noire
If it makes it any less confusing with where the videos are uploaded, my main YT account rocks my original handle.

Inside on of the barracks buildings at the freedom is a really good sniper laying on the ground free to take, the ammos heavy but you can find a crap ton in a crate hidden in the barracks roof and in the building on top of the lab, once you get that stuff the AI can only ask for it gently
Jae L. Mora
Painkiller when civvie?
Dream0fSkye
You aren't far off. Another one of the youtubers I watch reviewed it, and it is as confusing as you think it is. It doesn't get any better. Its like Deus Ex on LSD
scubaghost
agree with drrockso20, it's full of little moments in the dialogue you'd get a kick out of, and plenty of weird mechanics that'll make you cross-eyed. basically all of which can be completely disregarded without consequence. mandy said it right when he described it as "a total conversion mod that took on a life of its own."
Burning Fish
That Goodfellas bit *chef's kiss*
Civvie
lol I tried that game for an hour once and it gave me the same kind of confusion as Cruelty Squad did.
drrockso20
also had another idle thought, would be fun to see you try and tackle E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy some day, see how you handle some Franco-Jank compared to the more standard Slav-Jank
Hebonky
This is the part of the game where you meet the cultists. Tldr fuck monolith and his stupid cyber Para military group.
Flakbait
The intro animation and that music are just so damn slick
drrockso20
love the CHUD reference, you are a man of good taste in cheesy 80 horror movies(come to think about it CHUD would be one of those movies perfect to get licensed for an FPS, something in the vein of Left 4 Dead or Killing Floor I imagine)
Sweet, Succulent Content Nectar
I'll pull you finger....

I fuckin' love 'Tallica 🤘
DIEHARDMETALLICAFAN
This channel is A-no.1! *eye twitch*
MBK
Sweet, I just about re re re re re watched everything else again. Perfect timing.
ShinkazeVT
Ah, looks like Patreon shoved an extra "v" into the link for some reason. The magic of the modern internet.
Civvie
Try copying and pasting the link in your browser. The invite works, it's just that discord sucks.
ShinkazeVT
Woo, more Stalker! Good stuff, Civvie. Any chance for a new Discord link? The one in the post already expired.
PsychicGoldfish
Hell yeah! Glad to see you're enjoying the game! It's one of my favorites (at least, the series is. the later games have a few improvements and fixes to SoC)
Tripp Andre
Ohhhh so THIS is the piece of entertainment media about nuclear scientists that everybody is talking about! No issues here. I watched on desktop with headphones. Thanks Civvie.
DØMKQ95
A Civvie upload makes me unload my load
JOE MOTHERFUCKING TREEFELNER
Fuck yes
Civvie
I was hoping Patreon's player would be better, but I guess it's still in early stages. YouTube link stays.
Axiomatic
Stalker actually becomes playable once you find a moderately useful gun
Binary Order
Hey man just throwing my 2 cents in about the video, I usually stream YouTube to my TV. I can still watch the video on my phone obviously but a choice would be great, either way thanks for the content!
Civvie
I’m afraid to pull your finger
PullmyfingerCivvie
Works good here on Patreon for myself. Civvie if you're reading this pull my finger
Nomp
Anything that even minutely puts up a fight against the YouTube monolith is good
INSANITORIUM STUDIOS!
Fair. They don't seem to have the tech solid yet.
Civvie
I've been getting a couple of complaints about this and in the future I think I'll exclusively use YouTube again. Not sure exactly how Patreon's video hosting works but I was hoping it would be a little kinder with the bitrate than this,.
Civvie
The captions are usually auto-gen for the patreon release, yeah. I have a person who does the English and French subs for each video and usually they use the time between patreon and public uploads to nail the subs and timing down. EDIT: I only just realized you were talking about PATREON captions, which I didn't even know were a thing. That's nice too.
INSANITORIUM STUDIOS!
It keeps stopping to buffer every few seconds on my phone... might be safer to stick to YouTube. They may shafter folks with their algorithm, but at least they don't stutter-stop you every 3 seconds.
November Delta
I like the viewing in Patreon! Would certainly be nice to have the option to use either, seeing as some users did not have a consistent experience. Also, I noticed the captions look mostly fleshed out (save for a "Thanks for watching!" and a "See you next time. Bye" persisting for the first minute or so). Usually it's auto-captions for the Patreon release and then cleaned up for the public release. As always, great video! Your commentary delivery is one-of-a-kind.
Aoife Rowan
the Patreon video worked for me up to the point of getting the story from the barkeep and then it froze on that dialog overlay while the audio continued
Civvie
The discord link didn't expire, discord just hates me and it's userbase. I made that link today for this post.
Ryan Kaspy
Great video as always though Patreon video kept buffering and discord link expired
Beard McGowan
Yup, video working here. Patreon one, in the browser.
Valora Inverse
Patreon worked fine for me, minus taking a wee bit of finagling to get the player controls to disappear in fullscreen. Also, dang, this is making the Fallout itch act up again.
BT
God I can feel your pain at the end of the video. Peak STALKER experience.
Corey Peoples
So glad you brought the series format back, love it. Honestly wasn't anticipating the "bro" you got from that npc lol I might have to play this game myself after I get through the 80 other games I've started thanks to you, Civvie.
Kouh Sijaed (Tear Cushion)
Great episode, keep em coming CV!
Civvie
That's fair, I usually watch my YouTube on a TV too. Kinda glad I uploaded a version to YT as a backup.
Gilbert Fiddlestump
Works but looks quite a bit crisper on YT for me. Convenience wise, I prefer YouTube because of cross-compatibility with other devices. I usually click the link you provided and then have it in my watch history on those other devices (Switch/Deck, FireTV) where I then actually watch the video, like a true couch-potato.
Gleb Belyaev
The Patreon video works thank you Civvie. Love seeing you playing one of my all time favorite games.

Thank you my good Sir!

Video is working for me in the Patreon app. *edit* actually some stuttering and buffering with the Patreon player. Much smoother on YT. Also, a C.H.U.D joke!
Warick Zuiewski
No issues here watching the video
Yoaly Rodriguez
The video player ain't too bad, it's working for me.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but could you post the YT regardless? Means I can stream it to my TV, instead of being locked on my phone~
Dénes Hliva
Hmm, did you upload to youtube aswell? The patreon video player is having issues for me
Corey Peoples
Patron video is working for me 👍
Raul Campos
Sweet!!!!!
