CULTIC: EPISODE 1 - BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE
🕑 Added 2022-10-28 13:30:12 +0000 UTCBUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Halloween approaches. In the mad dash to get out some spooky videos, it seemed like it would be CRIMINAL to overlook Cultic in that shuffle. So this video will actually go public on Halloween, which is a terrible idea. No one is going to be watching YouTube videos on Halloween. Not when they could be attending social gatherings or watching Terrifier 2.
I'm very likely going to be watching Terrifier 2.
What started as a bonus video for October to cover the single most requested new boomshoot became a somewhat proper episode because even while surgically excising a rant about early access games, it still went over 20 minutes. Because unlike a lot of the new-school-old-school-retro-shooters, I find Cultic to be a standout. It's not just the Blood influences, as you'll see. It's the philosophy of "But Wait, There's More!" The demented pitchman vibes are intentional.
Please spook responsibly,
-Civvie

If you'd like to have a different name in the credits than what you pledged with, leave me a comment, or DM me on here or Twitter or discord or whatever. If your name is wrong, not included, or anything else, shoot me a message calling me an asshole and telling me to fix it.
Or if you want one of those fancy colored names that everyone gets now if they want. The credits in the video are usually a couple of days behind the actual patron list so if you don't see your name, it will be in the next upload.

I do not hate it. Also I didn’t find that but someone did tell me about it and I debated going back to find it for the video since I know it’s something I pointed out before. Apparently enough other people pointed it out too!

Hate to ask (because I know you hate it when we do) though did you find the hidden Voxel Tent that says "This one doesn't look like the others" when you check it? Can't tell if that's a Civvie Easteregg or not.

My only gripe with the game is I really don't like the sound effect of the mauser pistol firing. It's too high pitched and chirpy. It'd be a different matter if it were some sci-fi gun, but a C96 sounds nothing like that.
