HALF-LIFE: OPPOSING FORCE/BLUE SHIFT - ENTER THE GREASE
🕑 Added 2021-09-12 15:39:24 +0000 UTCFuck it, let's do some more Half-Life!
Opposing Force was a blast to make a video for and Blue Shift was so goddamned boring I spent half of that segment doing whatever, you know? I know there aren't constant Randy jokes but honestly I don't know which levels he worked on so it's more difficult to bring him up.
I'm trying to squeeze in one more video before October when I've got a couple of interesting games lined up for spooky season, a point-and-click horror game AND a horror FPS that has been hanging around my Steam library for a while because I figured I'd have to do a video on it. I haven't actually played it so that could be fun. Or not? I hear it's jank.

If you'd like to have a different name in the credits than what you pledged with, leave me a comment, or DM me on here or Twitter or discord or whatever. If your name is wrong, not included, or anything else, shoot me a message calling me an asshole and telling me to fix it.
Or if you want one of those fancy colored names that everyone gets now if they want. The credits in the video are usually a couple of days behind the actual patron list.

I fucking loved Opposing Force as a kid. I always tried to save as many people as possible, soldier or scientist.

I've never seen any of the new movies and know nothing about them. It's lovely.
Liquid Pigeon
And the video opens up with exactly what I mentioned being talked about. Absolutely incredible.

I'm a little surprised this wasn't a Quake mega episode, using the new remaster to talk about the expansions. Regardless, very excited to watch!

Utterly laughing my ass off. Also if that Randy borderlands fact is true π€
had no idea there was supposed to be a half life port for dreamcast, as always fps gaming history is made interesting here
Planescaped
I had no idea Blue Shift came out after Opposing force, considering it does nothing new and adds nothing new, whereas Opposing Force adds a ton.
The Malkovich/Calhoun bit *chef's kiss*

It actually might be Condemned, 'cause as far as I remember, yeah, it's kinda jank.
Nickcronomicon
Nice. Also, always happy to see you do more point and click!

Oh that Op-For AI. Those goddamn soldiers really did make it all the way to become the AI for aliens in Colonial Marines.
Gloriously greasy, Civvie. I wonder if that horror FPS game is made by a certain Monolith Productions... FEAR? Condemned? No matter what it is, looking forward to it, thanks for the wicked content as always CV-11.
It's a beautiful thing when that Patreon emails comes through of a new post. Thanks Civvie.

I hope the point and click horror game is Harvester

9:00 Star Wars reference. I caught that. I miss the days when Star Wars didn't make me angry....

I got Half-Life and the Blue Shift/Opposing Force bundle for Xmas one year. So, I immediately installed the HD pack before playing Half-Life for the first time. The cursed models are the ones I'm most familiar with, to the point that the default Half-Life assault rifle and pistol look weird. So I've got that going for me

Hell yeah. Thanks, Civvie.

Hell yea!!!

Op-For was great, it really added a lot of cool stuff. Back before Randy's greasiness became so apparent to the world.

Oh my lord, my saviour on a slow sunday at the firehouse
Steve Downes
Hell yes, more amazing old FPS games. Keep'em coming
LETS FUCKING G-- Hol up. Where's my man's Adrian. π³

Ah Adrianβ¦ I miss him soβ¦.

I really dig Opposing Force, especially some of the weapons they added. Blue Shift isn't bad, but it's so short!

Fuck yeah made my day
